Is it a coincidence that the Easy Spiralator agitator looks very much like the Hotpoint agitators of the late '60s, early 70's before they became just rebadged GE's? Did Hotpoint/GE assimilated the Easy company? I barely remember them except in a 1969 CU washers report.

Easy sourced machines from Hotpoint in the late 60's & early 70's, then the Easy Laundry (name) seems to have emigrated to Mexico.

Hotpoint had a spiral agitator before this sourcing agreement with the advent of the Fountain Filter. I prefer the older, straight-vane agitator in my 64 Hotpoint washer but others like the spiral. I don't have the gasket needed for the filter's pumping action, but I'm sure I would get more excited about it if I did.

Deja vu all over again

Thank you to all and thanks to Chestermikeuk for the link! I first saw that machine, or a facsimile, in a friend's very swanky Cadogan Square flat in 1978! I wasn't bold enough to open the lid and take a full peek but I remember remarking that it was a Hotpoint and it looked like it had a GE-sort of design inside with the filter-flo rather than the US Hotpoint filtration. I am curious-- I imagined that my friend's mother bought a top loader because they were originally from the Americas and were used to that configuration. Why do Brits, who have access to some of the best front loaders, buy them?

Hey:
I dont remember and Easy-Coin op..we had westinghouse (sign is still on the building) Bendix, and speed queen..here in Little Rock. My aunt had a easy spindrier..one side was the washing the other the spinner. It was so cool..of course I was forbidden to touch anything reguarding the machine and was banished from the back pourch on wash day. I'd love to see an operations manual or even have someone explain what the stick shift looking things on each side did and what the two buttons above the timer did. I saw one for sale on e bay awhile back..however it was on the other side of the country....otherwise it would in my laundry room:)

Which gasket are you referring to? I might be able to help you with this...
