Found this delightful GE buffet today and was thrilled because when I saw it at a distance I expected it to be encrusted in baked on grease and schmutz but it wasn't. It appears to have been seldom used

As well for $1.99 I got this little Kenmore air cleaner, electrostatic precipitator type with negative ions. Much like if not made by the same co that makes those ones Oreck sells for around $400.

Almost forgot this copper bezeled Ingraham kitchen clock, the one second to the left, my other $1.99 purchase. The one on the left is a Telchron Minute Minder, the red one is a Telchron and the turquoise is a GE

Outlets

Yes Tom, there are a couple of those recessed clock outlets at my mom's house. I installed one at my own house behind my microwave but it doesn't have a hook.

Yes, the original kitchen in our home was remodeled in 1962 and they installed a recessed clock outlet at that time.

Yes, my home has one above the breakfast nook. You can get the recessed outlets still at Home Depot. I have a gas range that I bought that has a plug for the ignition but the darn plug to it projected to much out to let the thing go flush to the wall, so I put in a recessed outlet and viola, the thing slides back to the wall. PS I love the poppy red GE plug in cooker. So appropriate for Thanksgiving.

I have my eye on my partner's mom's West Bend buffet. It's aluminum finish with black handles and the top can be flipped over and used for serving also. Very versatile. I have a Presto right now, my mom's old one from the 70's in harvest gold with orange swirly trim, straight out of the Partridge Family. With non-stick surface it's more user-friendly than the 60's Sunbeam and Toastmaster electric skillets that are sitting in my mom's basement.

Does anyone's house have the special kitchen clock outle

My house didn't have one originally (built in 1976), but I installed one in my laundry room for a clock I got from eBay.

Clock Outlets

I finally installed a clock outlet in my bar this year so that my Miller Clock/Light doesn't have to have its cord draping down the wall.

I occasionally make extra money installing home stereo and theater equipment, and we usually specify clock outlets behind LCD or Plasma TVs that get mounted on the wall.

Be mindful when purchasing a new microwave if you've installed a clock outlet behind it, that the new one doesn't have an angle plug like an air conditioner, as such a plug likely wouldn't fit into a clock outlet. That's a good idea, though, I think I have a good project for friday as I'm currently wasting an angle-plug cord behind my microwave's cabinet...
