I know this probably should have been posted in Super, but I wanted the placement to be the most active area of the club.

I just got a call from Todd. He & Gary are alive (thank God Gary kicked Todd's ass to leave town) because like I think I'd commented before, I knew Todd well enough he would want to ride it out. Todd's parents are ok too. They're all scattered in different directions. Todd has conflicting reports of only 3 feet of water in their house and 5-8 feet. He specifically asked for EVERYONE TO PRAY TO THE WASHER GODS that his machines are safe. He said there may be a massive Frigidaire funeral. I told him if they did get some water to NOT chuck them out, there's still hope they can be refurbished. If it's only 3 ft. of water, they're probably ok because he had his shed on blocks 3.5 feet above ground. There's a 99% chance the Hotpoint Fountain Filter (one of your favorite Luigi) is fine because they were still in his paernts garage, which had very little water.

They had to drive 1.5 hours to get supplies and prescriptions as well as cell phone signal. He will call me on Sat. when they have to return for supplies.

GREAT news Bob...I am relieved that Todd, Gary, and both of their parents are alive and well, and got out of there!! Thanks for letting us know.

I am glad the Hotpoint set is OK too, and I will be glad to volunteer my tools, manuals, and time to help with the repairs/cleaning up on Todd's machines!! A fix-in is in order!

Hi Bob,
That’s fantastic news; it’s great to know that fellow members are alive and safe. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this natural disaster.

Take care.

All the best.
Hugh

Bob, Thanks so much for keeping us posted. This is such good news. Todd, Gary, and anyone else feeling this devastation please know you are in our thoughts. Terry

Such Wonderful News!

Gald to hear Todd and his are ok, things seem to be on the way towards "disaster mode" down in NO and MI after some rough starts. By all means things are not ideal, but how could they be?

Give Todd our best and we are all praying for him and his as well as everyone else affected by this disaster.

Talked with Todd tonight. Gary's parents aree fine. He & Gary are staying at gary's sister's house on the edge of N.O. They do know Todd's parents house is fine and gary's parents live nearby. Todd & Gary will be able to see their house on Monday and take photos. Gary may get to go back to work in two weeks. His office is near the airport and happens to be on the same grid that's been restored for medical purposes and such. I asked about where Arthur (alr2903) might be. He asid Arthur's townhouse is on the outmost western edge so it's probably in good shape. But he's probably been at the hospital the whole time, he's a charge nurse and patient manager. But that's all he could conjecture. He's gonna call me again over the weekend. His siter's house has sporadic phone service.

Safe and sound

God bless all of you! I know it's lame, but *stuff* can be replaced; people cannot!

You have my prayers and hugs! As I mentioned in a previous thread (super forum), if you all need a weekend getaway, our washers (albeit, not numerous) may provided a little diversion during your recovery! We are here to help!

Take care of yourselves!

YAY!! Been concerned about both Todd and Jason (who appears to have electricity since he's posting) - that they are both safe and sound and in a better place makes for a great Labor Day present.
