Actually Phil, these are TOL for the time. An 806 washer & 808 large capacity dryer.

I can't believe...
How white all the buttons look on both the washer & dryer. It doesn't look like them buttons have yellowed at all from age!!!
I wonder if these look just as good on the inside of their cabinets, washer tub & dryer drum too?!

I just picked these up today. I haven’t had time yet to try them out, but they are clean and in pretty good shape.
This is my first foray into vintage washing machines, if you can believe it. I’ve always been much more interested in the kitchen than the laundry room!!

On your wonderful maytag A806 washer & DE808 dryer!!
I have the same set but mine are in the solid/non-shaded gold color. I love the flexibility of cycle choices of the washer.
Thanks to Sandy's urging, Phil's finding & posting on here, and Roger's muscle & knowledge, I finally got the perfect Maytag washer for me!
I think you're going to love these just as much as I love mine! Not only are they nice to look at, but they work just as good too!!

I’ll definitely post back on these. We bought them to use as our daily drivers. I’m really excited to use them for the first time, but we can’t get them moved into the house till the weekend.
My great-aunt—the same one who taught me to cook on her 1963 Frigidaire range—had a pair of Maytags, and she loved them. I’m a cook at heart, not a laundress, so I’m sad to say that I never paid much attention to what she had. I think they were 606s from the late ’60s or early ’70s.
This pair is much newer than that, and newer than what I wanted—imagine that!—but hopefully that means they won’t have too much wear and tear.
I guess I should ask, is there something in particular I should do when I run each of them for the first time?

At the least, check the dryer for any lint, inside and out in the usual locatoins. I'll let the experts take it from here. Sot this one is newer than what you were originally shooting for? (I like those older ones as well)
