The polls surged even more ahead for Obama this week. Yesterday we pick up Florida, Virginia and Ohio all in the same day!!!! Even North Carolina is tied! That is simply amazing. The Electoral score at the moment: Obama=338 to McCain=185. Four years ago on this date the score was score was Bush=296 to Kerry=238.

Caribou Barbie better drop to her knees and say her prayers that her big friend in sky puts a spell on her and helps her do a really good job at the VP debates tonight. I'll put in a good word for Barack at the Witches Council today. I just can't wait.

When you refer to Leviticus as being full of "cluelessness, bigotry and death" perhaps it would be a good idea to preface that statement with an "in my opinion".

I, for one, certainly do not share your view on that opinion.

Though I'm a Dem (again, with some Rep leanings), I can see Mark's wanting to keep a Rep in the White House. Reps have always favored those with money, and he's just trying to protect his ASSets. When those of us with less flounder under the next Rep "leader" (I still snicker when I think of Dubya being called a leader), at least he'll be OK.

I will be soooo glad when this election is over!

I am about to lose a very close personal friend because he is republican and I am democrat. I'm for Obama and he is for McCain. He continues to send over all these so called funny politcal jokes to my home Email account saying how stupid it is to be democrat. Where I live I don't see or hear democrats bashing republicans like the republicans bash democrats.

My wife won't let me send anything back to him because my wife and his wife are friends. She told me why would I want to stoop down to his level. His wife is not like him when it comes to politics. He would probaly divorce her if she said the word "democrat" in their home. What's make this even more tense is we all church together. I will not attend the Sunday School class he is in for now because he can't seperate politics from church. I dodge him when I see him. I attend Church to worhsip my Father-God and my Savior Jesus Christ not to discuss politics.

I am ready for all this arguring and bickering to be over! Let's focus on getting this country fixed! We are all in this thing together gay, straight, black, white, asian, indian, far easterns, russian, german, hispanic whatever the case may be if you are an American citizen this applies to you!

I'm sorry if the above comments offends anyone in this club!

So your opinion is, those who curse their parents should be put to death.

Homosexuals should be put to death.

Adulterers should be put to death.

Etc.

Read Leviticus 20. It's spelled out in perfectly clear language. This isn't a matter of opinion, you either believe this is God's Word and subscribe to this garbage, or you don't.

But I'm afraid too since Obama is black and it makes me wonder if some of the remaining red-neck hicks that live near my sub-division will do something to my harm us, my home or property. You know some of them good old southern country bubba's don't realize segragation went out in the late 60's!

I can understand your reservations. I won't put any politcal affiliations on display in my yard/garden for any purpose or elections, period.

I know for a fact the telephone wires were on fire when I bough my suburaban little love-nest. But the neighbors absoltely LOVED us.... and never a burning cross, either!

There is no need to make enemies. (In my case, I have plenty already!)

OMG that is horrible that a thought like that even crosses your mind. Our neighborhood is filled with Obama signs, I have not seen one single McCain lawn sign. Although if I did see a McCain sign I wouldn't shoot anything but evil looks at that house, gunfire would be out of the question lol.

My point is that we are all making comments based on our opinions, not on fact.
Our opinions are just that---opinions, and are not the last word----- unless perhaps, you believe yourself to be some sort of god.
Everyone has a right to his or her opinion but should respect others rights to dissagree. Simple now, isn't it.
IMO it is time to chill. Sheeeeesh!
 
The ONLY yard signs I'm seeing in our 'hood are those for Obama. And they are in front of substantial homes owned by CEO types as well as the smaller ones. We had one out in front of the house before we moved in to make it appear not to be empty, then removed it when the estate sale happened. Hey, we'll take anybody's money, including republicans'. Now with the momentum building for Obama I think it's time to keep it going, so if I can get my partner to allow it, we'll put the sign back out there for the home stretch.

NObody should feel afraid to place a political sign in their yard, David. You might be surprised about how much company you have considering the sad state of affairs that Bush and the up-until-recently republican controlled congress have driven this country into over the past 8 years. Go for it!
 
Its differnt down here folks.I live in the North G.A. Area and David is Right to be Leary.Eton/Chatsworth/Blueridge Mountains area Trust me some people are still pissed off that the South lost the War down here.My Parent's have a Home/Cottage in Coosawattee Resort I see signs in there but that is a Gated and Guarded big time.Jimmy Carter has a HUGE house there and I havent see a sign there yet.I go in the Back entrance so its been a long time sence I seen his home on a Cliff. Ellijay is differnt than the rest of North G.A. there is a bunch of gays down there and there out and proud.I have extended family that are still stuck in some time warp from the 50s of coarse they hate my guts which I am very proud of by the way.There are NO signs down here but Mcain signs for the most part.
 
When I used to spend time up in Cherry Log we had quite a group of "out" local citizens. It was fun to go into Blue Ridge and camp it up for lunch at the Tea Room. I loved the hats.

Most of the mountain folks I know still stick to the old idea that politics is a personal thing and they NEVER discuss who they vote for or their political views----and that would include putting out signs. It is indeed a time warp!(When I lived in Tallulah Falls it was a step back in time for sure!)
I don't think so many old southern families are still angry over the war as they are just proud of the service their ancestors gave to the Confederate Army. And why not? Many of them lost their lives over their beliefs----something most Americans wouldn't even think of now especially if it involved a detour from the mall.

It has been an interesting observation here in Roanoke, that in the past week there has been a sudden proliferation of signs that read: "Another FAMILY that supports McCain".
Hmmmmmmmm. Wonder who is behind those-----------.

I expect things will get downright nasty before its all over, but hey, its America and at least for the moment, we have the right to dissagree with each other.
