Came across an intriguing video- but I wonder if its true or not. I have always assumed that an impeller can indeed fit much more than a top load agitator:
Of a TL vs FL washer the FL washer can wash the same load in about 1/2 the tub space.
That said except for agitator-less washers like the calypso impeller machines are a at a big disadvantage to actually turn over a big load.
The greatest capacity full fill TL washer are models with a Dual-Action type agitator, with a DAA you can easily get 25-35% more clothing to turn over in the tub.
And no lower fins LOL! Yahhh, not sure what the deal with that is. But great replies- and Combo- had not thought of the DAA or Calypso increasing load size. Makes sense now that I think about it.
I almost fell apart laughing when I first heard that! Couldn't the just be honest and say that we kept this old design because it works better?
My username may be SQ but I am not a fanboy by any stretch. European FL machines are most likely better for cleaning but of all TL models currently built there is only one for cleaning and durability, but that is by DEFAULT not because of "SQ's Advanced Design."
