GE Mobile Maid
IIRC, yes that is one of the last models before GE pulled the plug on their top loading dishwashers. Want to say 1970's but am sure others will chime in.
Unless the lid opens differently than previous models there are only two cycles instead of three. Perhaps just "normal/daily dishes" and "pots & pans". Or the first with "china/glassware" as the second.
Cannot be sure but think by the time these units rolled out GE had gotten a bit less frugal with water changes. Will have to look at my Hotpoint top loader service manual for the late 1960's. Think "daily/normal" was only pre-wash or rinse, wash, and one rinse instead of prewash/rinse, rinse, wash, rinse, and rinse.
One saving grace if one recalls a member's post is that the cleaning action was slightly better with these machines and they switched to the same "side" motors that GE still uses today for dishwashers. This as opposed to the squirrel cage units of previous models. If the pump system changed as well then it would be easier to find parts for this unit than older versions.
The price is rather attractive and the thing looks in good shape without major rust problems.
