Trying out the new netbooks. I first had the Toshiba NB 205. Bought it at Staples, because they don't charge a restocking fee if you return it within 14 days(BBuy charges a 15% restocking fee on return).

Although I liked the Toshiba, the sound quality was very poor(one little speaker underneath). Also, the card reader would not support my XD card from my Fuji digital camera. It stated that it had a 6 cell battery that would last 9 hours.

So back to Staples it went........

HP

HP does well at making printers and scanners but as far as PC's, I like Dell.

Now I know that not everyone likes Dell, but out of Compaq/HP, Toshiba or Dell, they've worked the best for me. Toshiba is a very good brand as well, but I do enjoy my Dell boxes.

Dell

Those Dell Mini's are pretty good little nettops. They used a SSD (solid state drive) so NOTHING is mechanical, which means no noise, no breakdown.

You can either opt for Windows XP or Ubuntu
