Well, it makes sense on an upright vac if you're looking down on the switch (as many women do), pushing it down and dragging the poor thing all over the carpet just seems natural.

TRAIL IN THE SAND

By PETER DRAGON

I dimly remember a toggle switch on the old crinkle-finish upright Hoover we had in the 50's. Yes, Mom let me vacuum the living room sometimes.

I bought one of those chrome cast metal Osterizers about 10 years ago. It replaced a push-button yellow plasticated Oster that gave up in the middle of crushing ice for a Daquiri. Maybe it was trying to tell me something. Haven't used the "new" one much, but I very much like the way it looks, and I never did quite get the need for all those buttons/speeds on the plastic one. On/Off/Pulse works just fine for me.

I still have the plastic jar from the old Oster, plus some small 1 cup storage jars that are pretty cool. Where the lids have gone, I have no idea.

Where have all the jar lids gone, long time passing?
Where have all the jar lids gone, long time ago?
Where have all the jar lids gone, gone to crushers everywhere.
When will they ever turn, when will they ever turn?
