As a kid I was interested in appliances and had a few toy kitchen setups. Wasn't least interested in dolls but liked the houses themselves. I had a brown plastic kitchen set where all of the cabinet and appliance doors opened. Also had a purple side by side refrigerator where the doors opened and then the whole thing opened up and was an ice cream shop with rubber props.

Also, had some kind of battery powered toy that had a food processor and blender on it that rotated. It also had a little exhaust hood above a toy burner, which had a fan inside that spun from air blowing up a straw like piece at the back. Never seen another of those. Almost sounds like something in a dream, but it was indeed real.

I remember liking that as a small child too. I had cousins that had an Easy Bake oven, sink, refrigerator and pots and pans, and endless dish sets. Loved playing with the appliances.

I loved my toy food and dishes. I never got a kitchen but I would use old cardboard boxes that I had colored to look like appliances and cabinets. Leave it to the daughter of a carpenter to just make herself a kitchen. My kids have a wooden IKEA kitchen and a set of dishes and pots that are really ceramic and glass and metal. They love having realistic toys like that. It’s been a favorite at our house for many years now and given how well it’s held up, I intend to hang onto it for my grandchildren someday.

I always loved toy washers. Had a Pretty Maid that you had to change agitator to spin basket, but really wanted a Wolverine automatic. Thanks to Roberts posting I got a 1962 Lady Kenmore Rite Hite washer at nearly 30" high. Only problem is the 3 vane agitator goes up and down. Holds water, spins but wrong agitation. Sears Wishbook only carried them for that year. I heard these were originally built for Frigidaire.
