Toy appliances?

Hello everybody...
Wondering how many others were into toy appliances as children, such as the "Suzy Homemaker" line. When I was 4, I received the large washer that ran on 4 "D" batteries. Still have it 42 years later in working condition. (wish I still had the box). Always wanted the toy stove as a kid, and finally through the miracle of eBay, got both the stove and dishwasher a few years ago. The stove was a major coup - original box, styrofoam inserts, instructions and a few of the original utensils.

Additionally, I had (and still have!) a toy cannister vacuum cleaner, mix master, and several old toy stoves (including the original 2 Easy-Bake oven models), as well as a "Little Chef" stove from the 50s, and an all-Canadian model - the "Bake-O-Matic" oven, of which I've attached a pic.

I have none of the Toy appliances I had when I was a kid. I had an all metal hand operated twin tub with a hoover style impellar, an Electrolux battery operated cyliner cleaner, it was dark grey with orange buttons ( Rob and Paul have the real cleaner in their collection ). I also had a green and cream Hoover Senior toy, my sister had the Junior, and a Casson toy autowasher with wash and spin function, could be battery or hand operated.

I recently bought a toy miele washing machine but it leaks water if i put any in it even if it is supposed to hold it!

I had all 3 of these as a kid( none of mine survived sadly- these are Ebay replacements). My washer was all white tho.

I remember having an Easy Bake Oven, and a little pull string mixer, and a battery operated top load washing machine. I don't remember having a toy vacuum cleaner, I always used the real thing. I also had a toy Tom Thumb manual typewriter.

Hoover 612

I had two of these on successive Christmases ... I loved the first so much it wore out and had to be replaced.

Somebody on the vacuumland site still has one too ... I'd love to see a picture if anybody has one.

push-action washers and dryers

I have a few push-action top-loader washers and dryers put away. You push the spring-loaded button, and the agitator or dryer drum spins.

Ah, that takes me back!! My washer was all white as well. I would have loved a Dirt Searcher toy....very cool!!

The Electrolux toy cylinder cleaner was owned by a neighbour of ours. She was a couple of years younger than me. She also had a cream coloured, metal twin-tub. It seemed to be clockwork, but was missing the winder key.

My sister had the dirtsearcher Hoover Junior for Christmas 1975 and the all-white bendix style 'Casdon' washing machine (1974), similar to that blue door version.

Before that though, both my sister and I had 652 Hoover Seniors, in pale green. Apparently we fought over the one cleaner so much, that our parents bought another! LOL.

And apparently two of our cousins (brother and sister themselves) did exactly the same thing!

When my neice was a kiddy a few years ago, I got her the Hotpoint toy washing machine.

Note...I've had this SH washer since I was 4 years old (1967). Unfortunately long lost the clear plastic lid and the box. Too bad. But it still works, using 4 "D" batteries.

I believe I was given my washer for Christmas in 1966 or 1967. It still works, although the lid met its demise in a Suzy Homemaker oven. I was burning through so many D batteries I eventually just wired it to my erector set's transformer.
