Hi to all. As a newbie, at least as far as posting is concerned I have a question.

A short while ago I purchased from Ebay a Tricity Bendix 7179 Compact automatic washing machine.

Well today I took a better look at the beastie, changed the drain hose, took the back & top off, plugged it in connected the water and away it went, no leaks, everything working. Could not believe it. The machine has not been run for an age it was totally dry inside.

My question is, Has anyone got an instruction book I could have a copy of please? And does anyone know who actually made the machine? I know it was made in Austria, that's it.

Thanks in anticipation, Philip.

Thank you Hotpoint 95622. Came across that and one other link earlier whilst searching but all I got was a 404 error.

Will keep looking.

These little machines are by Eudora in Austria. No joy from me on the instruction book tho, sorry.
Andy

Thanks for that Andy, just what I needed, can manage to translate German and Austrian is very similar.

All I now need is a source of spare parts, have dropped a mail to the manufacturers.

Any one any ideas??

Andy, thanks for the information. I too have been looking round Eudora website but never have found the info you have found. Did not know that Electrolux looked after the spares as reading the Eudora website I think that if my slightly shaky German still works they were bought out by Merloni and now produce a variation of the Asko machine. There latest compact model is based on the larger Asko as it uses the classic Asko suspension. Thus it can spin a lot faster.

Although the machine is certainly over 40 years old after a bit of TLC it now washes perfectly with no leaks. A fine piece of engineering, I love the way the programmer is driven from the main bearing.

Thanks again Andy.

Electrolux inherited the management of spares through the acquisition of Thorn appliances group. Since taken them over they have not used Eudora machines.

From what has been translated from Google chrome, I believe they had a joint relationship for production of Asko machines in Austria before Antonio Merloni bought Asko. Once Antonio merloni was involved they were able to purchase their products to sell through as part of their Eudora brand.

We had one of these little machines at my old work for the tea towels. It was definatly cute & quaint, and did the job well, but sometimes annoying in trying to get the spin balanced. Although once achieved it was fine.

I really must remember these modern services you can get over this interwb. Totally forgot about translation programmes!!!

I find the spin cycle start one of the machines more endearing quirks. I am sure I can get nearly two inches of lateral movement with a few towels in the drum.

Funny really if you think about it; bought two machines from Ebay one a modern Indesit drum action top loader and the little Eudora. Guess which one works and which one broke down after a hot wash.

Thanks again for your help Andy. Now have a bit better knowledge of old washers.
