Every time I'd ride with him, I always had to roll down the window because the scent was waaay too much for me to handle.

I had a buddy who drove a 72' Monte Carlo. He always wore Brut cologne. He didn't even need to be in the car, it reeked of it. As soon as you opened the door you were smacked with the smell.

Hey, I liked Clairol Herbal Essence.

The only place I ever saw a Woolco store was in Shreveport, LA. Never saw one in Chicago, Denver or Houston. But we had a small Woolworth's in the shopping center near my house when I was growing up.

Woolco's closed in 1982. We lived in New Orleans then. They had a almost new one in Metairie on Clearview Parkway on the start of the on ramp to Huey P. Long bridge.

For Houst0n it had Sage, K Mart, Globe, Shoppers Fair, FedEx and TG&Y Family centers along with Grant City.
globe went out mid 70's along with Grant City. The Grant City building on Little York Rd right off I 45 was turned into Big Texan bowling lanes with over 100 lanes. Shoppers Fair was close to Northline Mall and was still open when we moved in 1977 to New Orleans. The same with FedEx. The very first WalMart was put in in Porter off Eastex freeway in 1978. TG&Y's were closed in the mid 1980's.
