Rental apt for now.
Washer and DW already waiting for me. Will find a suitable dryer.

Now all I need is a closing date and an apt... LOL

BTW apts here do not generally come with central-air, W/D (or hookups)or a DW. DW-ers are SLOWLY creeping in to the rental scene.

Here landlord provides heat, water and hot water. My rent will be more than my share (1/2) of running the house was....

WoW.... Our 800 sq ft apt here is $640 a month includes water and trash.. Cable and Internet are $75 a month and electric is $125ish a month, due to the crappy hvac unit we have..

Double the rent you have stated and up it goes from there.

OMG... I couldn't afford to live in a Cardbord Box up there... The basic apts. here go for $525 a month

Speaking of cardboard boxes, I wooked near Bloomingdale's on East 58th Street (read: swanky upscale address).

A homeless man lived in a refrigerator box (horozontal with a tent-top on the street in front of a chuch. No one dared remove him in that the church was some type of out-reach center.

He had water from the fire hydrant piped in via a rubber garden hose and electricity from the lamp post. He had a heater, a hot-plate a TV and a radio.

His address was better than mine.

Finally!!!!

I went ahead and got the St. Joseph statue for my land in Colorado.

I just won't be able to go up there and retrieve it, if it sells. They may need GPS to find it though, lol.

Did Barney Fife pull you over Sunday night? LOL

Glad to hear that you are finally going to be able to "officially" move on. That must be such a relief.

Also, thanks for the tips on the NYC trip. We just got home yesterday and it was fabulous. I didn't think I would have that much fun but it was great. We zipped all over on the subway and never had any trouble. The people were wonderful if we needed help. We met an awesome man when we got off the subway at the WTC site and he gave us great insight as to where to go to see all the things we needed to see there. Times Square was fun and the Broadway show was great. My husband's company rented Ellis Island for a private dinner on Sunday night and that was awesome. The weather was great too!

Maytag mom: There is a St. Joseph (with his heels up in the air, as is technically proper) buried in my yard. Methinks the neighbor's cat pees on him. Poor dear. There is another one in the house as well. My brand of Christianity does believe-in or DO statues, but what the hey, it was worth a try.

Yes, we are moving as soon as we can sell our house. My husband got his new position and his new office is 60 miles away. In Chicago traffic, that means 2+ hours commuting each way. We are looking towards the Illinois-Wisconsin border.

I made a webpage with our house info since we are trying to sell it on our own. We get a 10% of the selling price bonus from the company if we sell it and they do not have to buy it from us.
