That looks really cool. I like the stand and the colors. What was the storage area typically used for?

Did these have a kit back then to convert to a steam table/buffet server?
 
The innards seemed to find their way into cupboards and cabinets for other uses over the years, forever separated from their parent roasters. 

 

Personally, I don't see myself ever using any of those components other than the rack(s), so when I found my handsome 1946 GE roaster with racks only, I grabbed it.
 
Thanks for sharing my excitement over this! I already have a white one on a base that has the clock/timer. It also has the griddle attachment, but I've yet to find the rotisserie or the original dishes that it comes with. I'll probably swap cabinets, keep the griddle, and put the one white one up for sale.
 
Baking dishes, broiler grill and rotisserie:

The early baking dishes included two Hall China covered loaf baking dishes and one larger Hall China roasting dish. They could all be placed on the inner rack and the smaller covered baking dishes were for side dishes and the larger roasting dish for meat. They are perfect for many uses.

Later in the 1950s they switched from Hall China to Pyrex sometimes clear and other times milk Pyrex. Many times these dishes are confused with the refrigerator dishes. So as Rp mentions above, they are seldom found with the roaster ovens and make those way into other areas of the kitchen.

The broiler grid and rotisserie are two accessories that were sold as “add on” accessories. Both are interesting to see. Neither is necessarily easy to use OR clean.

The cabinet has a space for the timer which is located on the front where “Westinghouse” is embossed. That is removed and the timer ( another add on accessory) is installed
