I found a Turquoise "Imperial" dryer at the Goodwill Store in Dayton (not Beavercreek, Toggleswitch) . I am not an expert on Frigidaire's but I think this might be about a 1963 model?? I should have written down the model number, but can can get that for you if you want.

Not perfect but not in bad shape shape, no major rust, some chipping. I would rate it at Fair+ condition. $25

If someone really needs this to round off their collection, let me know and I can pick it up and hold it for you.

It's electic. I went to the Goodwill store after work this evening and looked at the model number. It's very odd...it showed, "model: dial" on the back sticker and the nameplate behind the door. No numbers.

If I am reading the date code correctly on the sticker on the back of the machine, it is a 1966 model. However, I thought Frigidaire had given up on Turquoise by '66 so I may be reading the code wrong.

I would buy this myself but I have zero space for it.

(no more invoking the devil!!)

A possibility, Jamiel. My brother-in-law worked on the Frigidaire assembly line for many, many years. Most of the time he was on the refrigerator line, but I believe he was a sub on the washer line for a short while.

He might know if there were sample, or special productions models.

One intereting note, I always wondered what they did with models that got damaged on the line, junked them or sold them at auction. He said they had a man who was real wizard at doing body work on appliances.

If an appliance got damaged in production and it wasn't severe, they pulled it off the line before it got to packaging, and gave it to him. He did body work on it, just as you would on a car. He said the guy's handiwork was amazing, you couldn't tell there had ever been damage. When he was done they sent it to packaging and off it went!
