Turquoise Maytag washer

Hi Todd, this is probably a TA 700 Maytag washer from the early 60s. It looks pretty good for a 60-year-old machine. It’s hard to tell what’s wrong with it. It may need motor rollers, but it could need all kinds of things at this age, it may be fixable.

I guess to the casual observer it looks like the washer in the 70s show but I believe that was a 1970s avocado Maytag they’re just a decade off, lol

The description is funky but it sounds like the agitator spline is stripped. Just need another agitator, even a powerfin from 1966-1989 will do the job.

Crazy she kept the original tub block, I've never seen a pre '66 tub block. Put that on the shelf and build a shrine to it.

Hi Dan and others that’s not the original tub block that’s something someone came up with.

The original tub block for these machines was a very heavy duty piece of cardboard with a round ring of cardboard glued to it that sat down in the tub opening, and then the lid was taped down on top of it.
