FYI....

I am trying to go after these!   Hopefully no one else is.

But if you are PLEASE let me know!

OK?

Thanks!

Kevin

These are all utterly gorgeous, hope you get the second set Kevin!

Small pet peeve: why do people advertising dryers almost never bother to note if the dryer is gas or electric? Many homes don't have hookups for both.

Very nice set. Nice to see in that condition and age and still going strong. Kevin, I hope you get them to add to your collection. Would have been nice to see a money shot or two.

Where are the water level and temp controls?  Does the washer just fill to the top, and are water temps dictated by the cycle selected?

RP2813,  I believe the electric cord has hid the silver lever/s.  Look at picture 3 from the right in the original ad.  I can not be sure but looks like some print on the left bottom of the panel.  alr2903

These are definitely a 7-series of 1963 vintage. I've always considered them 700s vs. the 70 series that Kevin pictured. Actually there is only one digit different in the washer's model number, and both have a 7 in the series digit, but because the dryer has a full-width door, I've considered these 700s because they're perhaps a tiny bit fancier.

Washer is an alphabet washer with timer set temps according to the cycle letter.

The water level switch is on the left, a slider type just like in the same era Lady Kenmores.

You can see the water level adjustment a little bit better in this picture below of the same model, just under the first letter E of 'kenmore'.

Thanks guys.  I was trying to convince myself that a sliding lever was behind the cord, but just couldn't see it.

OOOOOHHHH!!!

I would love to have those!!! I would love a turquoise set like that. The "filtering" light is interesting. Don't know that I have ever seen that before. Good luck Kevin!!!

Delicate Cycle

I noticed that on the timer dial for the Delicate cycle 'F' there is an arrow that appears to point to the left. Any idea what this is supposed to indicate?

Malcolm

Which agitator can we expect in this model? Bakelite super roto-swirl?

Kevin, I take it the Mustang is giving up it's spot for something that came from Sears?

I take it the Mustang is giving up it's spot?

Yes it is Ben!   In fact I have already kicked it to the curb!

Brainard: Gordon will correct me if I'm wrong, but this is an upper end model and had a self cleaning filter, hense the amber "filtering" light.

Kevin

Does this model have a the manual lint filter?

This model has a self cleaning lint filter, that is why there is an orange light above the timer dial that says filtering….it glows orange anytime the washer is washing or rinsing to indicate that the filter is filtering. During the drain the filter then cleans itself……...PAT COFFEY

Wow

Between being a matched set, colored instead of white, and then those artistic ovals around the timer dials, WHAT A SIGHT!!!!!
Kind of funny that the "filtering" light glows even if you clogged it beyond repair, or re-hosed right past it, but very cool.

Technically speaking, the "filtering" light is wired in parallel with the agitate wig-wag solenoid. It did not have a separate cam on the timer or any sort of "monitoring circuit." On this particular machine it will also light during "suds-return" even though it's not possible for filtering to take place then!

GOOD LUCK!!!!

kevin!!!
i hope you get this beautiful turquoise set!!!

keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

;o)

Update!

After a handful of text messages and an e-mail or two, I finally spoke with the seller this evening!

He's going to send more photos tomorrow and we will talk again.

It sounds like it may come together!

And THANK YOU everyone for the crossed fingers!

Kevin

mrb627: Yes, this does have the bakelite Super Rotoswirl. In fact Robert filmed his, and it is on video in the See It Wash section of the site.
