Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Oh yeah!

I think this washer(s) would be a lot of fun. I always liked commercial equipment for some reason, guess because it looks so solid

IIRC, this type of washer offers a spray rinse in all models.
Think some models have a diffuser at the bottom of the tub which sprays a fine mist up into the laundry as the tub spins. If I remember the brochure correctly this spray can go on as long as one wishes/programs and when finished the washer ramps up to final spin speed. Maker claims this results in excellent rinsing. Do not think one is supposed to transfer laundry back to the main tub for rinsing like Hoover twin tubs.

These washers are not only popular with car washes, but restaurants and hotels as well. Apparently they are great for processing huge amounts of linens very quickly.

throughput rating?

Yes it's probably really fast. Anyone know the throughput rating for these, e.g. in lbs./hour?

The way I think this was intended to work is, wash on the left, then spin, then rinse on the right, final spin, then done. The wash cycles take approx. twice the time of the spin cycles, so all the cycles fit together neatly in terms of time.

Though, I suppose you could use the left and right tub for simultaneous wash cycles, and use an extract/rinse spin in the middle until done. Offset the cycles properly and the throughput would be almost continuous.

Unimac

I too have seen these in car washes. They usually use some type of low sudsing detergent and after washing towels, they are put through the extractor, then as they are damp dry, they are put back to work again. What a cool machine. If it wasn't so big it would be fun to get and to work with.
