Twist To Open Razors, with the double edged blade

Foes anyone else use the TTO double edged razor? I bought a Parker TTO razor and was not fond of it.After that,I found a vintage Gillette at an antique store and paid $1.50 for it.I cleaned it thoroughly and soaked it in Barbicide. afterwards I tried it out and found that when coupled to a Derby blade, it gave me a better shave than my Mach3. I find it funny that I use shave cream from England, and a Gillette that cost a buck 50, I wonder why the Gillette shaves so much smoother than the new razors?

I have a Gillette adjustable TTO razor. I've been using vintage Personna 74 blades lately.

What English shave cream do you use? At this time of year, I like the Mitchell's Wool Fat shave soap.

Electric BUT!!!!!

I use a Braun electric mainly, but my dads Gillette is the only blade razor I have ever gotten a good shave with,its about 50 years old,Once in a while I shave with it,I dont have much time to fool with all that shaving cream etc so thats why I use an electric.

I use Taylor of Old Bond Street shave cream. When I am in a hurry in some mornings I will use my Norelco electric to do a touch up. but it is no match for the Gillette. It is time consuming though.

It has been SO long since I've seen an old-fashioned razor. My dad had a Gillette and he used the double-edge blades.
