Two Filter-Flo Machines!

One is in near perfect cosmetic condition, the other has very much been rode hard and put away stinking and wet.
The pretty one has its clutch stuck in LOW speed. Yes, I know that isn't possible and I'm the only person to ever experience it and, no, it's not the motor.
So - I can't figure out how to unstick the low speed.
And - the beat-to-heck Filter-Flo has a clutch which is in minty-fresh condition, shifts into normal or low speed without difficulty.
Can someone here give me some tips (remember, write slowly so I can read it) on how to swap the clutch from the beat-up machine to the looks-like-it's 1974 all over again machine?
(They're identical inside).

PS: Please, no lectures on how it's not possible. We went down this road a few years back. Yes, it's really stuck in slow speed.

A GE two speed clutch stuck in low speed? Is that possible?

It certainly is! A few factors can play into the two speed clutch not shifting from low to high, but I too have seen this happen.

Good new is you should be able to swap the clutch over from one machine to the other, but to Melvin's point swapping the full motor/clutch assembly would more than likely be the wiser move. This way you won't have to worry about reassembling everything with the potential for something to go wrong, worrying about getting the roll-pin put back in place on the outer drum, adjusting the shift lever, etc..

While the post is related to the solid tub machines I did throw together some pictorials of the inner workings of the GE two speed clutch awhile back, in case you're interested in reading through. The general principle of the clutch is universal across all Filter Flo GE's.
