Nice LKs...and coppertone too!

Beautiful Lady Kenmore set Runematic! What year are these beauties? Lighted controls, etc.? If I'm not mistaken, these may the the LK 800 series that Jason loves so much. Can you give us a peek inside?

Those 'Tags still look to be in great condition, which leads me to believe that it wasn't that long ago when you were a kid. ;-) Besides your delivery, what's their history?

You are amassing quite a nice (and large) collection. Please post more pics of your stuff!

Venus :-D

Venus, the 'tags were in a retirement-type church home community. The people live in bungalow-style homes (those that are well & able enough to do that on their own). I'm 35, so it was quite a while ago. The thing that irritates me on that place though: We've always serviced all the homes quickly; we let the previous on-site maintainence guy pick our brains for free info for years, etc. When they replaced all these machines last year (they forgot about this poor lady where this pair came from), We lost out on the bid by $5!!!!!!!!!!! We're even related by marriage to the maintainence guy. Well, eventually he got fired and now cleans porta-potties. SWEET JUSTICE!! They got a new fellow in charge & he called us for the new Dependable Care pair to replace these. How's that for the machine's history?

When I get back over to the warehouse, I'll take a few inside shots of the Kenmore's.

Could I?

May I come down and pick up a Maytag pair this weekend? I promise to give them a good home. Love and cherish them. Clean and polish. Do regular maintenance. And you can have visitation rights.

:-O

OMG! Look at those Kenmores! They're so beautiful. They must belong to some washing machine collector. Who understands those guys anyway? They only keep those things because they're so pretty.

My first love

those are the Kenmores my mother had when I was little. The first washer I ever watched.

Wow, these are both in good shape for their ages. I found a KM washer just like that, even coppertone, behind Lowes one night that looked as it it had been pulled up from the river bed. I pulled the top off for the panel and let the rest go. I don't think I even kept the panel in the "Great Shed Cleanout '05" last month. These 60's Kenmores were among the neatest of the lot. Congrats on the great saves!

What a dream job.

Who would say that about delivering heavy objects. But, wow. You are lucky. what a prize.
Thanks for sharing these pictures.

WOW! What a nice pair of L.K.'s Like the others have said, they look like they came from a collector!

Question

So what year were the Maytag's made?

I guess I'm the only person here who think's coppertone brown is hideous on any appliance.

I remember as a kid, a good friends mom had this same KM washer.

I always loved the smell of Tide and the rythmic sounds that machine made...( as only a whirlmore can. ;-) ) when i would go to their home.

The flickering console light and scrubber cap with detergent cup on top...ahhh, those were fond memories.

BTW,...anybody know what year these KM's are from?

YIKES...AAAAAAAAAAH!!! Como puedes decir esto? Somebody needs a ker-slap...Jason we're gonna need to get the big guns for this one...

;-)

Both gorgeous!

I think both sets are absolutely stunning! Look at the styling on those Kenmores!
The Maytags take me back, my mom had a similar pair from 1977-1996!
Congrats on the beautiful finds!

What can I say

I just hate that color on appliances. I also can not stand wood grain on appliances. It just doesn't seem right to me.

very nice :)

awesome, the tags look Mint, I love the old "centered" timer. Love the kenmores too, I have the dryer in white .........

Wow, those are beautiful machines. Those coppertone LK's bring back childhood memories for me also. We had the 70 series of that era. Great machines, I loved the scrubber top, measuring cup on the agitator and the backlit dials that you turned clockwise. These are treasures.

the gold console maytags.

just my opinion, I liked the maytags with the gold trim control panel, chrome trim, and the crystal dial knob.

It's one thing to have one of any of these machines but to have 2, yes 2 sets! You are a lucky man.

I like some of the more "solid" colors offered on appliances these days. Plain white is pretty boring. Some of the earth tones of the seventies, like Harvest Gold, coppertone, and the all to popular alvacado green are a little better...but still my favorite are the metallic-flake colors used on the new HE3T's and stuff. That metallic blue and maroon red are the absloute best colors to paint appliances...it's like the nice paint job on a sorts car!
