HO! HO! HO! (or in NYC YO YO YO!)

So Bob/Appnut, Westexman/Bryan, MaytagMom/Carol, Retromom/Venus, Westytoploader/Austin..and other fabulous Texas residents:

Freezing your jingle-bobs off in the snow are ya?

1)How'z it driving in snow /ice when you are not so used to it?

2) Heat- Gas, electric resistance, electric heat-pump, other?

3) (Gawd forbid) any blackouts due to heavy demand?

Enquiring minds want to know!
STAY WARM.

TE HE HE HE I saw Stephanie Abrams of The Weather Channel in TX, this morning and thought of all of you and a certain someone who has referenced her in the past.

I have also been thinking about all of you and wondering how you are doing. They are calling for 4-6 inches of snow here today in central Illinois so we may be joining you!! Keep warm. Terry

Toggles,

Don't laugh!
My Jingle-Balls will be frozen this Friday since it calls for snow in our area.
Gotta push the snow to the right and blow salt from the rear so stand clear 200 feet!
Larry's going to melt some snow in the afternoon!

I feel like singing:

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I've bought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm

The fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we're still goodbying
But as long as you love me so
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Is this for real?!?
Big Daddy Strap going to whip that snow back into place!
Where's my leather Chaps?

LOL

It's "jingle-bobs" by the way.

LOL ROLF LMAO

What movie was that from when the gorgeoud woman get into the outdorr shower in the west with "Red-Rick" later "Dead-Rick" and comments on his nice jingle-bobs? Is that a John Waters' film?

Well, this Bob's Jingles are nice and warm. It's a balmy 68 inside and heat pump has kept up very well, even overnight. Had a low of 18 this morning that I'm aware of. Was 6 in Lubbock. I stay home when it's icy. A friend of mine's partner too 3 hours to drive 30 miles on I-35. There were sporadic power outages in town and throughout the area this morning. It's now clear, has gotten to a balmy 27.

Since I have to work in the extreme cold, I can't tell the difference.
It's just cold and when the nose drip freezes, it's too cold for old dogs like me!

Bundle up and stay warm everybody, where ever you are!

Thanks Steve, I plan to, it started snowing here about an hour ago and is really coming down, if this keeps up we could easily get those 6 inches. Terry

If I offended any one, I'm sorry.
I will clean up my act!
Cleanteam suppose to keep it clean and not to leave a dirty trail like our Johnson mechanical brooms (that is the real name of the brooms).

Please forgive!

Larry

Chilly-ness ...

... but no icy-ness or snow-age. Last night's low was on the order of 30°F. I checked the temp several times, got 30°F, 32°F, 33°F at various times. Inside was 70°F for the most part. The Carrier was cycling, fairly long run-times, but not continuous, auxiliary is locked-out (except for defrost) until the ambient is 20°F (I think, need to check that again). My Galileo thermometer claimed 72°F for a while in the kitchen area when the oven was on baking the MAPLE CHEESECAKE, but the master bath with the three large glass-block windows had 64.x°F. Eeek! Lotsa wind, more than Hurricane Rita mustered up.

Predicted high today of 39°F, then 30°F-ish again tonight and Friday night.

Glenn brrr, sounds almost as bad as here. There are two linebacker-built type guys in Victoria I drool over all the time. See if you can get one to come over to keep me warm lol.

This morning has been exceptionally cold, colder than yesterday morning as well! Car thermometer read 26 degrees in the garage (dropped to 23-24 on the road), and it still felt cold in the house even though I had the heater cranked up to 73. I left my electric heater (yes, it has an overheat sensor and it's out in the middle of the floor so I'm not too worried) running in the laundry room section last night so it will be nice and warm when I finish up KK (YAY) and move several more vacuums, hoses, nozzles, etc. down here tonight to get ready for Saturday...WOOHOO!!! I'm glad it's going to get a little warmer tomorrow/Saturday...

I think the "unbearable cold" is for the most part due to the wind-chill factor...feels like 16-18 degrees out there! :)

unbearable cold...

was zero here yesterday morning when I woke up, and the temp climbed to a whole 10 yesterday.
Warmed up some today, and is snowing like mad tonight. I took me an hour and 15 minutes to get home from work, and its only 8 miles distance!
I hate winter!!!

I'm dreaming of a white...

Just took this out my front door. My car is pretty well covered, and its still coming down.

Where is Southboro in your state?

Southboro is a bedroom community approx 20 miles west of Boston. The Mass Turnpike goes right thru Southboro. The Berkshires are about 2 hrs further west. I guess that might make us neighbors BUT...it might be a bit of a walk to borrow a cup of sugar :-)

The Berkshires are beautiful!!!

Jeff said "I hate winter".

that's exactly why I've NEVER wanted to move up north. Yes Robert flourishes in the winter and others here do to. But no thank you. I've been miserable today knowing it only got to 33 for a short time. It's 26 now. ugh.

Our Dallas office was closed yesterday afteroon and all day today due to some snow or ice or some such thing. Nothing anyone would have noticed in Minnesota, but apparently a big deal to them.

I'm going there tomorrow through Sunday for our holiday party. It's supposed to be cold but as long as it's not ice and snow we'll survive, being we'll be inside most of the time, not to mention staying in a 5 star hotel.

I had always thought Texas' winters were more like California, but I have learned these last few months that I was wrong. It got down to 44 degrees one morning even when I was there in early November. I didn't bring a jacket and it kind of sucked. I was stressing before the trip because I thought it was going to be HOT. Ha! The daytimes were beautiful though.

Scott some parts, from central to north particulary, get plenty of winter!

On occasion it dips down to the Gulf Coast.

Last Christmas Eve we had several inches of SNOW, which is an *extremely* rare thing, not so much the snow which may happen every few years, but white Christmases are far and between.

I remember about 15 years ago, there were a couple days of continuous below-freezing temps, which caused some plumbing damage.

Dallas can be particularly cold during winter...I experienced it! This morning's weather felt like Dallas, IMHO...maybe not as chilly.

I wish the winters here were like California!! That's one of many reasons why I want to move there in the future...

Come on Bing, I love the snow during Christmas before workin

Now I don't like snow during Christmas!!!
While everyone is popping boxes open, I have to pop manhole covers with my plow. :-((

Don't worry, I wear a green uniform and that makes me different from the rest of the world. Little Green uniform men in a bright orange truck bringing happiness to those who returning gifts to the stores the next day and I don't even get a wave but having the pleasure of being number one and you stuck behind me!

Oh what joy it is to ride........
*Smile*

33°F tonight. The Carrier ran for 3 hrs straight from 12 AM to 3 AM, recovery from 60°F (although the indoor temp was about 63°F) to 70°F.

Larry:

While everyone.........

That is by FAR my favorite EVER line in the club to date..you DAWG!

And what a huge powerful plow it is, hanging in the front off your truck.
