Hi Guys

Just something that has been happening in our local stores over here in WA.

2 Months ago, Coles launched at Australian version of the English fabric softener Comfort. We have had a variety before but it vanished not long after I moved here.

6 different fragrances, 5 of which are shown below. Missing one is 'Purple Blossom'.

All of them are very nice and I bought all of them since they were on offer for 1.99 shortly after they began. 2 sizes of bottle also, I bought the small ones so I could just try.
Purple one had to leave my stash shortly after because something about the smell gives me an instant headache.

Blue one smells exactly like blue UK comfort but is a lighter more 'fluro' blue liquid.

Rainforest Green is my favorite.

Just thought I would share this as its quite a revolution, no new softener brands have popped up lately except for homebrands being rejuvinated from time to time.

Also,

Coles have also launched Fairy dishwashing liquid and dishwasher detergent tablets.
These are not formulated for Australia, they are straight from the UK, with the standard royal crest and all.

The dishwasher tablets are the same, regular and Platinum with the blue gel incorporated.

Purchased the dishwashing liquid (blue Eucalyptus one), very happy with it so far. Smells pleasant and does a great job!

One more...

Omo has also launched its range of Capsules. Very much the same as Persil Capules, scent included. I had a leftover Persil one from when I used some before and the smell is identical, the only difference is the shape, these are more like Ariel Liquitabs.
They have two formulations at the moment. Top Loader and Front Loader High Performance. Although I do believe they are releasing the Sensitive variety at some point in the future.

As for the difference between front and top loader, not much. A slight amount more suds is the only difference.

Its been an interesting few months detergent wise here. Never know what your going to see when you go a perve down the laundry aisle of your local I can tell you.

Anyway, enjoy, any questions, fire away.

Matt

OOOO nice,

Watch your hands on that Fairy WUL, Found any of the varieties in a clear bottle rot my hands, yet the formula in the Limited Edition retro bottles washes the best, and still is gentle on your skin.

and it does last longer........... lovely "council house" style bottle now.

Hi Matthew

thanks for sharing. It's always interesting to see new detergents.
How long do you have capsules (liquitabs) over there in Australia?
And how do people like them?

Here in Europe seems that the liquitabs are pretty well accepted and people like them, mainly because they are convenient to use. But some of them are quite overpriced.

Hey Matthew

I noticed the capsules a couple of months ago...and was sorely tempted.

Have you seen/tried the new OMO scent in the green box? Smells like Persil to me or, at the very least, close to it...

Yay! Persil laundry...

Omo to Persil

All we need now is for Unilever to go full circle and rename Omo Persil as it is in New Zealand.
Interesting looking Comfort bottles and fragrances, but I really dislike fab softener anyway so won't be trying it.
Thanks for the info Matt.
Steve.

Liquitabs are kind of pointless

in a top loader. They are a one dose dispensing system. If all washers were the same capacity and only offered one load size it would make sense.

The same with dishwasher tabs. Dishwashers have dispensing systems that release detergent and rinse aid at exactly the right time. I can measure the amount of detergent that I put in the dispenser myself. The idea that a layered tablet, placed in the bottom of the dishwasher, will dissolve in stages at exactly the correct part of the cycle is a bit of a stretch.

I guess it is meant to make the disagreeable and difficult task of measuring and adding more convenient.

I'd call this a superfluous gimmick and a waste of money.

Hey I have not yet tried the Omo in the green box. Smells very light and fresh, bit of a contrast to the usual stronger Omo scent. I keep seeing it on special at my local Coles but never pick it up. I'm working through some American Gain at the moment since I have found a way to order it from the USA and have it delivered to the door, pricy but i've got a real soft spot for it lol.

Matt

I've not tried it either - yet....but if Coles has OMO on special, I may just have to head there tomorrow and wash a few workshirts in it...or better still, the bed linen....

You're going through the Gain dishwashing liquid pretty fast, Matt!  I thought you didn't do much hand dishwashing....

Interesting to see the P&G family relationship in bottle designs.

New Comfort...

It is a killer..its is so SO strong my neighbour commented on my strong "aftershave" and how pungent it was when i got in the lift at home the other day lol ...

Its the Sunshine Days version. I did purchase the "rosy blush" one also but ended up giving it to Mum to use on Dads garden clothes that STINK!

I've gone back to using Woolworths Select Blue Orchid ... totally in-offensive & it works.

I canty wait for the Fairy Liquid... I will check Coles tonight... i am bored wth Franklins range at the meoment! I'e had the Fairy dishwasher tabs before the are great in the F&P DishDrawer chuck one into the cutlery rack and use fast wash... EXCELENT results
