Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

well, if you don't mind a German opinion...

My best mate has one from that series. Good: Dries quickly and is quiet.
Bad: Has been repaired three times in warranty. Once more, he gets his money back.
I have been biting my tongue...how anyone who knows me could possibly buy Whirlpool/Bauknecht is beyond me.

A change of plan.....

Hi Keven /all

I cant claim to have had much expeirence of Whirlpool dryers- however I do know their spares are pretty expensive!.

Because of this ive decided to go down the Zanussi-Electrolux route for £5 more. The model is exclusive to Euronics/CIH and I cant find a pic anywhere :(.

Should get to the shop next Tuesday, will get a pic then ;)

Hope you enjoy your Zanussi!

I've just got a second-hand whirlpool vented dryer, and im well impressed with it. It dries a full load of towels spun at 1100, on high heat in around 50 mins! And for clothes spun at 1100 on low heat about the same maybe a bit less. And it is sooooo quiet!

Only downside for me is that it has no window, and the reverse action isnt even! Hehe, (just me being pernickety :-D)

Dan,

The reverse action is not supposed to be of equal length, but only to prevent tangling. During reverse, if you listen carefully (and they are quiet, I do give them that) the blower is not running.
My AEG and my old Miele also do/did real short reverses. Wonder why only top of the line stuff in the States reverses?

I know its only to untangle, however my previous tumble dryer. A Hotpoint 9326 used to do even reverses IE 70 seconds clockwise, with 70 second reverse. I preferred this method, as it produced more even results with larger loads.

My thoughts on very few dryers reversing in the US is due to the fact that their dryer drums in general are FAR larger than our European ones, therefore less creasing and tangling will occur. Or at least thats my theory on it!
