CHAV is English! But we have them here too...
I have heard the term used in London when I was flying International. I was out with a freind having lunch near Trafagar Square and he said "look, there's a real group of Chavs!"
The best way I can describe a Chav is a person who wears those hipity hop type clothes and training outfits that have the designer name in huge letters on them, hoodies and baseball caps, lots of "bling-bling", and they never seem to wear real shoes, just tennis shoes all the time (called Trainers in the UK) Chavs in the US love to drive those 4 wheel drive trucks that are 8 feet up off the ground. Chavs usually act like little punks.
I would venture to say a Chav would be the result if the Hipity Hop and Redneck culture collided.
For those Texans, if you go to the WalMart in Porter, Texas you would see tons of Chavs. But then again, you could also see them at the Galleria (on the walkways, not in the stores.Being a Chav doesn't mean you are poor, you have to have some $$ to be a Chav.
I never thought of a Chav product,I guess you could say that they like the cheapest of the cheapest (Old Milwaukee beer is a favourite of American Chavs)
