I have seen many RCA Whirlpool models but have not ever seen these, does anyone know what year these were produced?

I think the discussion that Ben is referring to involved Akronman's 1959/60 Whirlpool. Probably one of his original posts after finding the machine. I believe an owner of a similar model posted the pic of their machine.

Check it out, it's probably still an active thread, or a recent archive.

Pretty close G, but

Akronman's WP features green buttons arranged in two vertical rows along the main dial. His machine is one year older than he is--a 59, but he pretends it's a sixty sot hey can be the same age

The WP in Drew's pic was a POD recently maybe, not sure, or somehow turned up. Like Drew, I was curious about when and where we had seen one. Either no one knew or missed the first inquiry about it.

I thought sure this came up in one of the threads about the '59, maybe I'm mistaken. I'd swear I saw a comparison of Akronman's machine and the one in the pic here. I didn't find it in a brief review of the archives. If it's there, I am sure someone will remember or find it.

1960 Whirlpool

here's a few pics. Mine is a 1960 model for sure, Serial #W6004801, extremely similar to Kenmore 110.6004801, so I know mine is 1960. I, however, am 1959, and folks and family aren't ever on this website, so I lie and claim the washer is 1959, they'll never ever know the difference.

With excellent advice from folks on this site, my washer is now drip free, both the tub and the tranny hold their fluids well, and she runs like a dream. It required a complete rebuild, seals, bearings, tranny gasket and new oil, various hoses and a pump, lots of paint, tub gaskets and hold-down screws, around $100 all in all, and worth it for sure. Thanks for LOTS of help and advice from AW guys--

And the answer is......DING DING DING: it was indeed a POD

I never got an answer. I THINK someone has one, but like you G, I know how struck I was by the unusual configuration of the buttons all atop, and the fact that I had not seen it before.

1962 IMPERIAL MARK 12 GAS DRYER

I think that this was the only WP gas dryer to have the modulating gas burner. modulating gas burners were used on many higher end KMs from 1962- 1970 but unfortunately WP did not get this expensive to make feature, but nor did any Maytag, Norge, Westinghouse, GE, Hotpoint, Frigidare or even Speed Queen ever have such an advanced feature.

1956

Gotta love the old Whirlpools! I have seen a few really cool ones on here the last while. Here is mine.

If my mom had not this exact RCA WP,with all its looks, sounds,& lights,I may not be the washer nut I've been for over 54 years.(started about 2 1/2 according to mom.) The '56 Imperial had it all!

Window!

So cool to see a vintage WP dryer with a window door. I don't think they were ever available in Canada.

great looking machines guys but, has any member ever seen or owned these machines?

those control panels are really strange, it looks as if there are pushbuttons on the top edge of the control panel?

Could these have been very short production models?

I would love to see an actual machine.

These machines are out of this world gorgeous.......

and may not be in your configuration, but to beautiful to be hidden in a basement....

My first Kenmore Limited Electronics were in my kitchen, matching all the Kenmore Limited appliances, and they were beautiful to display with the lights on......unfortunately when I bought my house they were placed in the basement, seperate from the other kitchen appliances.....only to be admired by me.....before they got top recognition and admired when anyone walked in the kitchen, and thats a scene I mis the most....I would like to have a set in my kitchen again, laundry mess aside, even just for the view....
