Why do you think it's a GE?
Does it say GE on it anywhere? If not that would be my last choice. GE was not known for divided cooktops on any but a few models and as far as I know, no recessed cooktops on 40 inch models until WCI started making them-a dark day indeed. It is more probably something Canadian if you can find a whole bank of fuses--please don't hate me Canadians-- and I have to agree, a lot more WCI than anything else, especially with those lightweight door handles. If it were GE and dated from 1953 til the mid late 60s, it would have push button surface unit controls. It's much newer than your date range. Dollars to doughnuts, that left door is side swing, another WCI clue. I would back away from this as quickly as it is safe to do so.
