Actually, the circumferential ring with the cycle printed on it on the front on the timer could be carefully pried off from the outside edge, giving access to the knob which could then be turned around until it cammed out at the OFF position.
When I was in college and before I knew this, friends had this dishwasher in their apt. One night we ate there and after loading the dw, we discovered that someone had interrupted the dry cycle so the timer was not at the OFF position. They were thinking we had to unload all the suff and let the drying finish, but I had another solution. I just used the sink faucet sprayer to spray all the stuff in the lower rack and let it finish the dry portion, making a primitive steam cycle and gently warming everything. In 10 minutes, I was able to start it and everything came out clean.
Is this a seasonal home or some other little-used place that would explain why these appliances are still there? I am just asking because these dishwashers did not usually last this long.
