Oven windows
Hey Robert, my 1953 Westinghouse Imperial "30" electric range has an oven window. Sorry I can't provide a pic as it's in storage. I don't think GE started putting windows in theirs until the restyling in '57. You're probably right about Frigidaire having them in '54. Seems like Kelvinator had them early on, too. I would really like to know what brand of electric ranges had ROUND windows, like Western Holly gas ranges. Did WH make electric models too? In 1957 (I was 2), we moved out of the three family house my grandfather owned, and the people that moved in had an electric range that was wider than ours. So until the cabinets and top could be modified for theirs to fit, they and my parents made an agreement that they could use ours, and we theirs (we had a wider space available) . We did this for a month or so, and then switched them after the kitchen was reworked to accept theirs. I remember it having the round window, but not much else about it. The peoples daughter lives down at the end of my street, but I never think to ask her if she remembers anything about it.
