Hey guys, just thought I'd give an update on the 1990 washer.

Replaced the drain pump just today and after 2 loads it is all dry underneath! I also put new clamps on the pump hoses just be be safe.

Thanks for the help!

Detective work

Usualy you can see staining from a leaking seal or hose. Often you can't see any stain where the pump is leaking. I have replace a lot of them on direct drive machines.

1990 WP Imperial

Glad to hear it was nothing more serious than a leaky pump. I spoke to a WP appliance dealer who sold many of these machines and he confirmed that water from the front was the pump and not seals. You made the right repair but I hope you replaced the drive coupler and motor mounts while you had that beautiful washer apart.

Hey Direct-Drive Dave!

I sure wish we could chat and even maybe meet! We would have a blast discussing our favorite topic! I have MANY brochures and catalogs of US & European washers & dryers, from the early 60's on. I also have O L D Life magazines with appliance ads from the late 40's and 50's! Jason
