Hey! Todd, I'm curious to know what the separate Long-Oval Covered area on the Right Side of the Maytag Freezer is? I'm "Wild-Guessing" is it possibly for Ice Cream Storage, to not take space in the larger Freezer area?

Steve, I'm not sure what the tray was used for. I would guess things you would want to use, like ice cream, etc. I'm sorry it took ahwile to get back to you. I was sick as a dog this past week.

That is a defrosting chamber used if you needed to defrost liquids, soups, or meats. I guess you could use it for ice cream too
