Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Randy -

First, does the machine need a new belt? If the cogs are cracking on the inside of the belt, then yeah, you may want to get rid of it. If there is surface rust on the pulleys (looks like there is on the motor pulley and the basket drive) then let the old belt wear that off before you install a new one.

If you buy an FSP belt, the package has instructions on how to change the belt. I can describe how to do it at any time as well. I have helped a couple people on here over the phone and would be glad to do that for you as well.

To me it's not a PIA, but for a first-timer, it can be.

To me it's not a PIA

But, Gordon... I thought you only touched Kenmores... LOL!

Oh, YES! Video is a must! I'd love to see that agitator in action!

Guys - your wish is my command......

Here are some short clips to whet your appetite - I'll be putting together a better lighted and full cycle vid during the next week.

There are several short clips....

Click the drop down on the right - "More from randycm1" - well, you all know how it works! This is the first time I've ever used YouTube so still learning the ropes. The longer full length vid is coming!

Nice ma-chine! The spin bearings sound wonderful but that noisy wig wag solenoid is something. Easy to fix, tho...

You'll have fun with YouTube! Just remember that when you put that video together, Y/T allows you to upload vids NO LONGER than 10 mins... I've hit THAT wall a few times... I'm looking forward to the full length video when it comes out!

AWESOME!

So far, so GREAT! I'm glad I took another chance spin through this thread. The sights and sounds are something to behold for sure. I've looked through all the short clips, (and will continue to do so) and am looking forward to the full length one you post. Thanks so much for sharing.

Have a good one
James

Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo

I've always attributed the woowoo noises to a resonant sound made by the belt and amplified by the cabinet.

The older Maytags make the same sounds only lower in pitch and even from what I've heard the new Speed Queens make such noises.

But yet, it's the Kenmore whine that is the sound of my childhood.

I agree Jason....

This is the sound from my childhood too! Machine runs good excepting the noisy solinoid on the Wig-Wag during the spin cycles. Overall I'm very, very pleased with the machine and glad to have found this one.

Randy,

we had the next step up from your 63 600 ,the model 70 at our summer home when I was a kid (my mom had gotten it and the matching Soft Heat Gas Dryer as a newlywed) and I remember it making the same wig wag noise as yours does...like you saiud child hood memories...PAT COFFEY

Thank you so much for this video! This was our first machine.
