Hi everyone, my first post. Can anyone tell me which points inside the 205001 timer control what circuts. I am looking to replace burnt out points with others from a circut that is never used such as perm press. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi and Welcome

Ryandill,

If you search the archives, you'll find several threads on repairing damaged contacts.

Generally speaking, it's next door to impossible to simply swap unused contacts from one place to another. Doable, but basically, if you have the skills to do that, you have the skills to repair the damaged one/s.

I'd get a used timer in good condition, personally.

A few thoughts, though, if you have no choice. One, if you can get the points working adequately, you can swap in a load relais which draws very little current through the contacts to provide power to whatever circuit you need.

What's not working? That might help someone here to help you.

Again, welcome!

You can replace the burned contacts if you want to, but some specialized tooling will be needed to do it properly. Have a look at the thread linked below and you can see how it's done. It should also be possible to replace just the burned contact instead of the entire switch, but to do that you'd need to find a source for the contacts and work out a means to securely install them. So as others have already stated, in the interest of time (and money) you may wish to replace the timer instead.
