Well everyone, very proud to announce that the v-Zug range of Laundry Appliances has made its way to the UK, I never thought I would see this day!!!, and we are one of the first e-tailers to offer them for sale!!!

I visited the UK headquarters to view them and after finding a set of screwdrivers took the top & back off to have a closer look!!I must say they are sturdy machines and along with Swiss style & reliabilty they make a very premium product.

The Adora SLQ washer boasts large 8kg capacity, 1600rpm along with anti-crease Steam Technolgy, along with a host of programmes both by selection or fabric type, combine this with the Heat Pump Tumble Dryer & you have quite a laundry combination!!!

Take a look and let me know what you think!!!!, cheers, Mike

Good to know but at the price of those I can get 5 pairs of disposable washer & dryer that will outlast them one after another :D LOL
Anyway they look really good... but I love SMEG styling better!

Wow Mike - very cool looking machines and an impressive price-tag. They look like they have a really commercial style build quality, and an amazing range of programmes!

Do you think they'll make a dent in the Miele market here?

8kg V-Zug...

...looks as though it has very clean streamlined design. It actually makes some of the older Mieles that you offer, look decidedly old fashioned.

Very interesting, thank you.

Somewhat expensive though.

heyy

everyone theyre soo cool, i think theyve got miele to compete with them, honeycomb drum plus these are 8kg! I'd buy one if i could!!! LOL

I wonder if later they will be coming to currys, comet, empiredirect etc?

Zug Adora

Hi Gabriele, I know what you mean 5 Indesits or one Zug combo, well if money wasnt an issue I`d know what I`d have...LOL,

Hi Paul, yes indeedy, will be interesting to see how they pan out with sales here, saying that a number of flagship penthouse builders are already on board....there will always be the need for the new & latest designer niche appliances me thinks..

David, they do have a great build quality, which is what I like, thats one of the resons I was so disapointed with the new Mieles, very plasticky compared to the older stuff, these are solid heavy machines, the door & hinges feel like you could swing on them...I do think they will give Miele a run for their money, I also used the new steam ovens, wow it made Tesco ham & cheese mini croissants taste like Harrods, very impressive, the technology is simple but sophisticated, easy to use & programme!!!

Hi Rolls, I think the Zugs have a clean simple look, very solid & sturdy, with enough different features to suit, the anti-mite programmes are press catching with all the allergies around & the Steam Clean is impressive...interesting what you say about Miele, I love their old fashioned solid look, I do like the W3985 for its sheer look..

Zug Adora Drums...!!!

Hey Jamie, the drum is unlike anything on the domestic market, it has soooo many holes its untrue...one of the advertisments is showing it compared to a "Honeycombe" drum, showing how quick the transferance of water is...for instance draining the zug drains in what seems like seconds compared to the Honecombs, so the theory is the quick transfer of water / dirt / solution etc aids washing and certainly the rinsing...also have never seen such large drum baffles, which aid washing & distribution for small loads and on all loads locks them into the segments when spinning!!

You might expect with all the holes it to feel rough or textured, not so, smooth as silk... Mike

hello
the pictures just make me wanna have one now, i personally think they will be good for people who want reliable machines and who have the £££ to spend. hey im curious on one of the pictures (the big one) the machine is showering water on clothes and the machine is on wetclean program, what is wet clean and has this machinbe got a shower thingy or its from the drum paddle?
thanks, and the drum is amazing, especially for 8kg.

Drum holes

The drum must have holes like the fine side of a cheesegrater.

Surely, the more holes you have, the more likely structural distortion will take place?

Quite interesting the way different manufacturers have different ideas on things.

Miele has fewer small holes on the Honeycomb drum to cushion the clothes and supposedly prevent towels being plastered to the drum walls; others promote the number of holes for efficient spin drainage, but surely this would allow towels to more securely grip the drum?. The question is: who is right?

LOL *eyes roll*

It IS quite a looker isn't it!

I love V-Zug!

Mike, that's great news. I've seen videos of the Adoras and I was hoping they would market them outside of Switerland. Now, if they would only market them here in Canada! Maybe I'll have to import one privately. Hmmm.
Seeing that they had this "honeycomb" drum for years as they call it wonder if theres any conflict with Miele over the term? They could just spell it differently I guess.

God i love these. But could they be any further away from my price range! LOL Mike are you goin to get yourself one at cost price?:P lol i love the look of the wetclean cycle! Any more info on that? Those baffles are brilliant, remind me of old hotpoint drums you could wash a small load and still be guarenteed good tumble action without things bobbling around the bottom of the drum!

Darren

Wonderful!

Congratulations Mike, wonderful that you're selling these great machines now. I love the looks of the Zug machines, the design with all the straight lines appeals very much to my taste. As if they designed it for me. LOL

I don't know how this wetclean cycle works but in the past there were some machines that had a cycle that shook the laundry a bit between two baffles. No real tumbling but light shaking from left to right and back. A spray helps keeping the laundry fully wet. Hope to see a video sometime of the wetclean cycle.

Some V-Zug stuff is also sold under the labels Sibir and Gehrig. The Swiss market is a complicated one with lots of brands and still some independent manufacturers.

OMG That is so Beautiful!!!

I have always loved these machines ever since I saw them on Youtube and toodled around their website. I am sure that it is just a matter of time before they have them here.I Love my Miele, this would make me cheat on them, that is for sure.

These V-Zug's look superb!!!!!

A classy and simple looking design belying there advanced technology.

They look great!
Cheers
Paul

Hmmm very smart, definitely one of my next purchases I think though a hell of a lot of saving to go first hehe!

Guess I'll have to put up with the Miele for now :-)

Wow!

It's an absolute beauty of a machine, it's certainly very smart and expensive lol.

I love the drum on the 8KG models. Imposing is the best way to put it, especially with those big paddles and a zillion or so drum holes!

I'm glad that they've finally come to our shores and that one day I could have that machine in my home lol.

Fingers crossed for great popularity of it.

"Wet Cleaning"

Is the latest buzz word in laundry.

Commercially, it is sold as an alternative to dry cleaning for fabrics such as woolens, cashmeres, silks and other items labled "dry clean only".

Using special detergents, finishing agents, washing machines, dryers and finishing equipment, wet cleaning is billed as a safer, and more gentle method than dry cleaning. When Consumer Reports tested the process it found varying levels of sucess. Best results were with woolens and to an extend silks such as blouses. Constructed items like jackets, wool pants and the like were best off with dry cleaning.

Wet cleaning uses minimal drum movements, with low amounts of water. Detergents are designed to clean without mechanical action and prevent fibers from swelling. The idea is to clean something quickly before the fibers can absorb much water, so they do not distort, colours fade, and so forth.

Personally have always felt the wool cycles on many washing machines, even Miele's are too long, and involve too much water (several rinses, etc).

There is a product out there called "Eculan" which claims to clean woolens and silks without rinsing, but haven't tried it.

V-Zug Appliances In The United States

Since Miele has given up the ghost on 220v washers, and even dishwashers for domestic use, can't see another European appliance maker even trying. Numbers just don't add up to justify the costs. There is also the fact V-Zug appliances would have to have electrical systems acceptable to Amercian standards, which they may already have, but then again maybe not.

If the United States ran on 220v/50hz power then things might be different, but considering what V-Zugs cost even in Euros, can only imagine retooled products shipped to these shores would be very dear indeed.
