V-Zug Laundry Appliances now in UK...!!!!!!

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I love V-Zug!

Mike, that's great news. I've seen videos of the Adoras and I was hoping they would market them outside of Switerland. Now, if they would only market them here in Canada! Maybe I'll have to import one privately. Hmmm.
Seeing that they had this "honeycomb" drum for years as they call it wonder if theres any conflict with Miele over the term? They could just spell it differently I guess.

God i love these. But could they be any further away from my price range! LOL Mike are you goin to get yourself one at cost price?:P lol i love the look of the wetclean cycle! Any more info on that? Those baffles are brilliant, remind me of old hotpoint drums you could wash a small load and still be guarenteed good tumble action without things bobbling around the bottom of the drum!

Darren

Wonderful!

Congratulations Mike, wonderful that you're selling these great machines now. I love the looks of the Zug machines, the design with all the straight lines appeals very much to my taste. As if they designed it for me. LOL

I don't know how this wetclean cycle works but in the past there were some machines that had a cycle that shook the laundry a bit between two baffles. No real tumbling but light shaking from left to right and back. A spray helps keeping the laundry fully wet. Hope to see a video sometime of the wetclean cycle.

Some V-Zug stuff is also sold under the labels Sibir and Gehrig. The Swiss market is a complicated one with lots of brands and still some independent manufacturers.

Linky to the Sibir and Gehrig products

For those who haven't seen them here's the link to the pictures of the Zug museum I made last year on my trip to Switzerland. The museum is in the basement of the Zugorama, the biggest showroom for Zug appliances in Switzerland.

OMG That is so Beautiful!!!

I have always loved these machines ever since I saw them on Youtube and toodled around their website. I am sure that it is just a matter of time before they have them here.I Love my Miele, this would make me cheat on them, that is for sure.

These V-Zug's look superb!!!!!

A classy and simple looking design belying there advanced technology.

They look great!
Cheers
Paul

Hmmm very smart, definitely one of my next purchases I think though a hell of a lot of saving to go first hehe!

Guess I'll have to put up with the Miele for now :-)

Wow!

It's an absolute beauty of a machine, it's certainly very smart and expensive lol.

I love the drum on the 8KG models. Imposing is the best way to put it, especially with those big paddles and a zillion or so drum holes!

I'm glad that they've finally come to our shores and that one day I could have that machine in my home lol.

Fingers crossed for great popularity of it.

"Wet Cleaning"

Is the latest buzz word in laundry.

Commercially, it is sold as an alternative to dry cleaning for fabrics such as woolens, cashmeres, silks and other items labled "dry clean only".

Using special detergents, finishing agents, washing machines, dryers and finishing equipment, wet cleaning is billed as a safer, and more gentle method than dry cleaning. When Consumer Reports tested the process it found varying levels of sucess. Best results were with woolens and to an extend silks such as blouses. Constructed items like jackets, wool pants and the like were best off with dry cleaning.

Wet cleaning uses minimal drum movements, with low amounts of water. Detergents are designed to clean without mechanical action and prevent fibers from swelling. The idea is to clean something quickly before the fibers can absorb much water, so they do not distort, colours fade, and so forth.

Personally have always felt the wool cycles on many washing machines, even Miele's are too long, and involve too much water (several rinses, etc).

There is a product out there called "Eculan" which claims to clean woolens and silks without rinsing, but haven't tried it.

V-Zug Appliances In The United States

Since Miele has given up the ghost on 220v washers, and even dishwashers for domestic use, can't see another European appliance maker even trying. Numbers just don't add up to justify the costs. There is also the fact V-Zug appliances would have to have electrical systems acceptable to Amercian standards, which they may already have, but then again maybe not.

If the United States ran on 220v/50hz power then things might be different, but considering what V-Zugs cost even in Euros, can only imagine retooled products shipped to these shores would be very dear indeed.

New Models

Hi Twodrums, The SLQ & TLSWP heat Pump Dryer are being introduced with the UK / Ireland in mind, it is available here from October,so the dealers have all the latest photos / info etc from the product training workshops, The V-zug UK websites are being updated as we speak, the exclusive distributor responsible for bringing V-Zug to the UK/Ireland/Europe are LSY UK, link included, they also promote the GE & GE Monogram appliances, a fantastic range of appliances for the serious appliance officionado etc...love the coloured fusion food centres & the GE Monogram rangecookers look like they can handle anything!!!

Hi James, I`ll see what I can do!!! you`re not bored of the Miele`s yet are you???

Toggs & TwoDrums - Structural Distortion..Hhmmmm, I think the way this is built, that issue has been worked out!!!like you say though interesting to see the differences in manufacturers, its also to do with how the machine operates as well, the functionality of the programmes is the biggest winner or loser these days!!!

Eddy, I`ll check the shipping costs!!!...lol, you have enough space now so no excuse there!!!

Paul, I`m awaiting the programme sequencing charts, (yes more excell spreadsheets) I think you like these!!!

Jon, get sorted with the studies, then the degree, then the Job and voila..I`ll keep my order book open for you!!!

Hey Peter, yes arent they big baffles, it does give the drum a new look, looks very commercial, alas no combo yet, but if they did you can bet it would be the best!!!

Hi Ritchie, glad you like them, I also fell in love with them the first time louis intriduced us to them, "Cheatin on Mieles"...how could you!!!...Lol

Hi Alan, yes it will remain to be seen how they sell, lots if its anything to do with me, the sales directors of LSY where completely thrown when I started to talk about them and all I knew of them in the first sales meeting, then when I showed them the links to Louis`s pics and youtube vids they nearly felly off their chairs!!! just goes to show nothing is exclusive in Cyberspace!!!

Zugs!!!

Hi Louis, well never thought this day would come, talk about living the dream!!! and all credit to you for getting us all interested in these machines as well, I think Jon Jetcone is booking his ticket as we speak!!!...Lol

The Sibir and Gehrig machines look great, for one country they do have a great diversity of laundry brands etc, the Sibir WA6100 range look like they are made by Gorenje, who also make the lower priced SMEG laundry machines!!!, who makes what these days, hard to keep up!!

Many thanks for the pic links, cant wait to see them in person, the Zug semi-automatic is my favourite with all those dials & gauges, looks like it should be in a boiler room!!!What is your favourite "Classic Zug"

Hi Brent, yes quite a classic, I wonder if the younger generation of AW club will rate it in years to come as we do say the Bendix Combo`s etc???

Innovation Wet Clean - Its the New Dry Clean...!!!

The Zug Innovation Wet Clean programme is very interesting, as Laundress says it is the new buzzword in commercial laundry sectors, its very simple in operation, uses cool water, 20d on the official Zug programme, and gentley cradle rocks the clothes, back & forth, whilst the spray jet showers a fine mist of water / detergent solution onto the clothes, so very little water usage, less agitation, so no shrinking / felting as can happen on other programmes...it doesnt do away with dry cleaning completly but for more robust items then this type of home cleaning I think will be a real boom!!!

Louis, looking forward to getting the vids myself, they are being installed in the showroom for use shortly, and who knows, the MaytAsko`s are gettin on a bit now, I`ll have to ask about a "Display Price"...Lol

Northern Ireland Delivery

Hi Mike,
Amazing looking machines and a great 8Kg capacity too. Do you deliver to County Down Northern Ireland? I would certainly consider the Adora SLQ, I just love the styling and the Honeycomb Drum is amazing.

David

Mike

So glad that this all happened and more Europeans than the Swiss can experience these wonderful machines.

It's indeed hard to keep up, the Swiss sure know how to confuse us. I've seen Zanker machines labelled as Electrolux long before Electrolux took over Zanker etc. The Sibir budget line looks indeed like they're being made by Gorenje. And then Gehrig doesn't have that line. And Zug uses Bauknecht for their budget line. I bet the Swiss do it all to confuse us! LOL

My favourite vintage machine is the machine on the right, the first fully automatic Zug Unimatic (what else LOL). Here's a close up of the timer.

Zug Super Unimatic!!!

Hi louis , I thought that might be your favourite!!! looks such a sturdy machine with the solid steel lid etc,

David, for an order I`ll consider personal delivery anywhere!!!p.s they will be coming to your area shortly, I believe!!!

Jon jetcone, glad you like, now you WILL have to book that ticket!!!

LATEST: Product Update
I got it wrong on the "Holes in the Hallowed Drum" the correct number is 14,500...(yes even more!!!) apparently the man at the factory had a teabreak before he finished etc, and hadnt counted the baffles!!!
