Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Thanks for the comments, guys! I really love my appliances.
Jason, I'll take a pic of the washer & dryer (Connie & Phil), but they're "only" modern FL Frigidaires.
Hoov', I'll take the Swingette apart again and check on the gasket situation.
Scott, I LOVE the white-handled Prestos. Got the popcorn popper, too.
Pete, I actually sold my FloorMate on ebay to justify keeping the Floor-A-Matic. Both work well, though I think the FAM might have just a little edge. Plus, it'll do carpets if you can find the shampoo anywhere.
Can't decide what will be up next--vintage toys, haircare products or electronics. Decisions, decisions...

Veg-O-Matic

Where's your picture of your namesake, the humble but mighty Veg-O-Matic? I just got a NIB wedge slicer for mine at a garage sale for $.25. Totally made my day!
Great pics by the way-love to see all the pieces you have!

Swingette/Porta Power

If you're using the cloth bag,it may be clogged and needs vacuuming from the insde with another vacuun cleaner. I keepmy Porta Power loaded with the paper bags (Type N) unless I know I'm going to be picking up a lot of stuff that would fill up more than one paper bag. The paper bags require another part to make them fit, though.

Great Stuff

Veg,
Fabulous collection of goodies. While scrolling through the pics I was doing a mental inventory of some of the vintage things I have besides vacuums. I hope more people will post additional pictures of their old items.

The designs of things were so well thought out in the past. And people actually drew up plans instead of a computer. Form and function were important.

The fact that most vintage appliances still work is a testimony to their designers and to the materials used to construct them. Thanks for sharing them and yes, as Robert asked, where is the picture of you?

Veg o Veg o Veg!

Gosh, Veg...I am wowzered over all of your fun smalls! Tell me something....what was the Sunbeam Vista line;i.e., what did it include and what year(s) were they produced? That is truly the most amazing looking can opener I have ever seen! I may have to try to snare one for the Wilder household!

As far as the Swingette is concerned...did you mean that it "doesn't suck" when referring to it's lack of power? ;-)

BTW, I think we need to have a *small* vintage appliance convention and I make a motion that we have it at your place! Just think of all the snackies we can conjure up using those great appliances! My head is spinning and my stomach is growling! ;-)

Veg.....FANTASTIC!

We had a pull down light similar, but more ovoid shape to the pull down part. I can still remember the sound of pushing it up or pulling it down of that mechanism. The cord was thick and cloth covered.

My mom also had the perc all the way to the left on your shelf. I don't think she has it any more, but I will have to ask her. Excellent!
