Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Lawrence please know that you are both in my thoughts!! He sounds like a very special friend! Terry

Thank you all, again

I need to go to bed soon. It is around 1:11 am here in Ohio, but this is the first night in many, many nights when LJ won't be beside me in bed.

If I didn't have an important, early appointment later today, I'd stay up till sleep overtakes me, but no such luck tonight.

Love, but not much laughter,

Lawrence/Maytagbear

Hoping for good health for LJ; He's lucky to have you in his life! I'm sure you've made the last 7 years his best. Few things show a person's true character more than how they treat animals. Be strong and know we're all thinking of you.

My sincere consolation goes to you from one who has had and lost several pets. I have three dogs, one cat, and an aquarium with seven fish, and to be honest, I get so attatched that I can hardly bear losing one of the fish, let alone anything else. I certainly hope for the best for you and your pet.

Ugh-bad news

Lawrence-I haven't been "on-board" in quite a while and now see that LJ is doing poorly. I am so sorry to hear about this. I do hope he pulls through. It is so hard to lose our beloved pets.

Our Kittyboy is doing well although we have had him for nearly 14 years and he was full grown when we got him. Knowing that he will not be with us forever prompted us to adopt a new little kitten at Christmas. Little Bruno is an orange tabby and was very young (@ 5 weeks) when we got him. Having Bruno has prompted the ol' Kittyboy to be more active as they play (and sometimes fight) a lot. The bad thing about a new kitten is that 1 mjxiozriohg hj,rftkluu;llrtz very difficult to work on a keyboard with one around. I figure that with another cat around, when Kittyboy does finally go to kitty heaven, it would not be as hard on us. When we had to put our Butterscotch down in ?92, the house was so damn empty I could hardly stand it. I couldn?t get to the humane society fast enough.

Dennis, Kittyboy, Bruno and I send our best wishes to you and LJ.
David

Update-

One of the phone ladies at the vet's said that he was resting comfortably, on IV fluids, and has used the litter box.

The particular vet (multi doctor practise) was in surgery, and won't be free for a while, but will phone as soon as she can.

Cautious optimisim.

The important appointment was in Ravenna, the county seat. I do not love Ravenna, nor going to Ravenna.

The best aspect of Ravenna is the two used appliance stores. Didn't take the time, though it would have been nice. Maybe next week.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, and Thank You.

Much love,

Lawrence/Maytagbear

Lawrence, hope LJ is holding his own and heading toward the better.

Granny had two cats (brothers, Calvin & Shorty) for years. She fussed often about "those damn cats" but she missed them when they were gone. They were her "boys."

Lawrence..i too understand what you are going through. I have had 2 dogs who lived out full lives, cats in the past, my beloved ferret and now i currently have a kitty who is practically attatched to me. I love my little girl to death.

I hope all will turn out well. LJ sounds like he has a terrific daddy. :-)

*No day but TODAY*---

as they sing in my current favourite modern musical- RENT.

LJ is HOME, and pretty content.
At this very moment, he is sweetly sleeping on my right foot.

It's not great...there are some distinct masses on the xrays, and we're waiting for the pathology report to come back sometime next week.

My current thinking is this: "As comfortable as possible, for as long as possible."

I've already button-holed two of my women friends.... Linn, who I have mentioned here before, and Mikki, whom I haven't. Mikki has been with me through this whole episode. Both of them are cat-women. Linn even fosters. Linn is in one suburb of Kent, and Mikki is in another. One or the other will be with me, depending on availability when we go to the vet that last time.
I've known Linn about three years, and Mikki and I go back to undergrad school in '79.

I cannot begin to say how much your love and support has meant through this.

Love, (and a little) laughter,

Lawrence/Maytagbear

PS- Do see "Real Women Have Curves." Wonderful, funny, gutsy....

I'm glad for you that LJ's back at home now.

And just to humour things along here a joke I read the other day.

A man walks up behind his wife who is busy at the sink washing dishes and says "Would you like to out girl?"
Without turning her head the wife responds "Oh I'd love to go out it's been so long"

So the get dressed and go out on the town for dinner and dancing whereupon later into the evening the man confesses in embarassment to his wife that he was actually talking to their dog who had been laying at her feet.

My thoughts and prayers are with you...

I remember when my daschund Getchen was sick...I would take her to sleep with me every night and just let her lay on my chest and I would hold her there all night. I felt so helpless, I didnt know what else to do. Like you with your cat...she is my best buddy.

Nothing but positive thoughts coming your way ...

Lawrence,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and L.J.

Mike

For LJ

Lawrence, glad LJ is back home. I'll say a little prayer. I adopted my Fran as a kitten from the Humane Society 9 years ago and she had me wrapped around her tiny paw in no time. I understand how tough it must be.
