Was staying at a hotel recently where Oxford & Wells Premium Ironing Starch was available. I tried it....and I am totally hooked! I usually underwhelmed when I hear about a new product that sounds too good to be true...this stuff works! I copied and pasted below from their website, it is completely different from the Niagra and Faultless starches. It is almost an ironing water that provides body to the fabric :

The Perfectly Pressed Shirt
The perfectly pressed shirt has just the right hold without being too stiff, it never shows press marks, flakes or streaks and it conveys the faintest fresh aroma that epitomizes clean. Even professional cleaners rarley achieve this lofty goal. So we developed Oxford & Wells Premium Ironing Starch, a patent pending formulation, to deliver the perfectly pressed shirt. Available in home or travel sizes so you will remain impeccably dressed and confident, everywhere you go.

Features

Patent pending formulation scientifically engineered for superior results
Prevents flaking, streaking, spotting, rusting and clogging
Environmentally Sound: Our non-aerosolized products do not use harmful chemicals or propellants that pollute. The HDPE packaging is rated SPI Code

I love it, too! But it is very hard to find. The only source I've found is Amazon. and it isn't cheap, either. I've called and written the company to no avail. They are really only marketing it to fine hotels and high-end laundries.
Laundress? Are you out there and know anything about this?

No Tom, Magic Sizing can still leave a residue and is very close in viscosity to regular spray starch. This product is very light in viscosity and is not aerosol, almost like an ironing water that provides tremendous body to a garment.

Greg, that is the impression I am getting too, regarding the marketing of the product to the luxury/boutique hotel market. I ordered it from Amazon and three bottles (12oz bottles) were 15.00 total.

I agree that is a bit pricey, however I have never found anything that could touch this...even when I used to use powdered or liquid starch in a rinse cycle, they did not work as well as this product. I am picky as hell with regard to things like this and very skeptical about new "super/great/fantastic" products. As mentioned in my original post...not with this.

I need to market this stuff...since I am going on about how good it is...lol.

I save this for my "bettter and best" shirts. Have you used it on pants? I think it's a little too pricey for that. That's what the dry cleaners is for! I usually have 4-5 pairs of chino's there at a time for "press-only!" Not that my chino's are pricey...I can't get them wrinkle free enough with any iron I have!

The product sounds a lot like Mary Ellen's Best Press, and probably is made by the same company.

Foxchapel, I bet you are 100 percent correct. I am not sure if the manufacturer is the same, but they sure sound close in the finish they deliver. I may try a bottle of the Best Press...Hopefully the scent is not too overwhelming as they mention "Fresh Linen" and " Lavender" as the two scents. The Oxford and Wells product has a great light scent that is not too frou frou.

Woops...just went to the website and there are numerous scents available and a non scented version...Thanks for this heads up, Foxchapel!

Westie...I think I am in a cave, I bet this is also another version of my "new find"..lol. I bet the Bounce and Mary Ellen sprays are identical in formulation to my "new find"...lol

Anyway, thanks for the heads up, I will definitely look for this too.

I included a vintage commercial for Faultless Spray Starch...corny but cute commercial. Indicative of the 1960s for products such as starch.
