Very interesting dishwasher

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Gary, My sister-in law and brother-in law had the same dishwasher for years in Harrisburg PA. It cleaned well. I think it had a few more push buttons on it. Would you happen to know the model of the one that they had??????

Very cool indeed! You know, I was flipping through some old pictures today, and I found one from July 1996 when we were on vacation in Galveston. I was standing in the kitchen of the beach house right next to the range, and I noticed that the dishwasher was the EXACT SAME MODEL that Toggle had in his apartment! Mid-80's Whirlpool with the "square" control panel. Even though it seemed recent at the time, it was a pretty dated kitchen with a drop-in range and pink Formica countertops. I think they were all Whirlpool appliances.

If i knew how to post pictures i could have a field day. I will tackle that this week. Anyhow this is what our current dw looks like on the inside. Crusted food don't stand a chance with that lower wash arm and filtering system.

Looking back i just noticed that this model has the flatware rack on the bottom rack instead of the door...very interesting.

Sorry Ray, I do not know the model#.

Are we a bit 'twisted' or what? Going on vacation and taking a photograph of the 'appliances'.

Here's an interior shot of the oven.
Wish I was there right now(not in the oven-LOL).....
Hotter than H**L in Connecticut.

Chris, I do believe this is a pure whirlpool. The lowest model with Power Scour, didn't even have the door mountedd flatware basket like it's more expensive sibblings. Buttons were Power Scour and Normal/light. Air dry and reset option.

I have the exact same portable model too sitting in the garage, butcher block top.
This house came with a built-in Magic Chef. When it dies, in comes the WP. I agree it's a great machine. Remembr the cool sounds it made, washing and draining?

As a matter of fact I do remember the sounds

of washing and draining. I don't know why I haven't yanked this hideous tall tub Frigidaire Precision Wash System
Ultra Quiet thing out. I don't really want to mess with painting the WP, and I'd just as soon keep it as a portable.

This model is from the series that was tested by placing a Big Mac in the lower rack and running it on the power scour cycle. When the last rinse drained, the door was opened and there was no trace of the food.

I have a slightly more deluxe version of an older WP dw that I am hanging on to because it, like the newer Maytag can be set to heat the main wash and final rinse water. If I wind up somewhere with water that is not hot enough for the KDS18s, I will have two machines that still wash well and heat water, not like these new machines that don't half wash, but don't make noise.
