Video "A Step Saving Kitchen", 1949

From the U.S. National Archives - I found this video rather entertaining, with the exception of the robot-like woman acting in it! You think she could have smiled a few times to show her enthusiasm for her wonderful, new, efficient kitchen! There are a few good shots of the range, with a deep-well cooker (second photo attached.)

Wow, I'd like many of these features in my own kitchen!

What a great kitchen! Throw a DW in and I'm a happy camper.

It was still grudge work, they just organized it a bit.  No dw, no micro, no internet or satelite. No AC.  

 

But don't worry pouting housewife, you and your 9 kids will start to have a TV in a few short years plus TV dinners and perhaps a dishwasher.....
