hey jeff!
well this model doesnt have balance protection! like all of the washers from yesteryear didnt. it'll spin irrigardless which explains abit of the noise in the spin. however, my particular machine balances particularly well from the way it distributes with all the water in it. which is really fun to watch as you can see in the video!

how are you? thanks for the message. my machine is a 1987 "Hoover Logic 1300 washing machine! it has 3 spins;

500rpm,800rpm & 1300rpm! all are much fun to watch!
