OY!

"Aren't the Americana's on the rarer side?"

They are when they have the optional vent hood like this one does.

Sadly, you cannot have one of these if you have a cat. Those rangetop control buttons are just where kitties can step on them and turn on the burners. Laundromat here says he lost a house that way.

We almost did too...

a few weEks ago WE came home to a kitchen full of smoke... the GD cat had walked on the HI button, all of which are on the top of the backsplash on our 58 40", and the big rear burner was glowing full tilt and had been for awhile. Luckily it had a large cast iron skillet sitting on it... cleaned the build up on it real good! Now we have a board held down with a brick covering the buttons, until we can get our '56 with the buttons on the vertical face on the backsplasher... cat owners beware! As they say - for good reason - curiosity killed the cat! I was close to doing so myself!!

We have a '63 Frigidaire in almost this exact color that would have to pried from our cold dead hands. Good to know about the push button controls though, as we have 2 cats (technically 1.5, since 1 of them is deaf and not the brightest bulb in the socket) and were contemplating going to a 40" when we eventually redo our kitchen.

I like cats;

but they don't belong up on the kitchen countertop or appliances. ONCE my cat (outside one) came in and got up on the table and started eating a bowl of tuna salad. Let's just say it was the last time it climbed on anything in the kitchen, as my mom was NOT pleased.

If I had one of those ovens, I think I'd throw the breakers for it at the circuit box when it's not in use. Boards and bricks in the kitchen wouldn't fly with the other half. :)
