Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

YAY Kelly!

So glad you are enjoying that dishwasher. You really know how to load it and I'm assuming these are the after shots as everything looks spotless.

These dishwashers really do wash well despite their loading quirks. Of course you've got the loading all figured out!

Looking forward to seeing you in Long Beach.

Fun Dishwashers!
I have always loved the sound of them in the wash cycle. I love how it starts to fill with a little more water during the main wash after a few minutes.
I really always thought the sound of the water action sounded like a Maytag top loader sloshing around!
I have had several of these over the years. I have two in the garage now. I think they are fantastic cleaners! The pumps on the belt drives were tough!
Glad you are having fun with yours!
PS--You can put a lot more in there....

nice machine!

Nice dishwasher, Kelly. Very nice of you, Patrick.

Maytag Reverse Racks are among my favorite dishwashers of all time. Never found the loading to be quirky at all. Perhaps its the easiest of all machines to load, as almost everything can go anywhere. And the top rack can hold really deep pots and roasters.

Aactually, I've found it's a hard machine to misload. You can almost throw things in and they will get clean, with the hurricane force waters coming from all directions from the two full sized wash arms and tower.

Very distictive washing sound. I think someone on this site, correctly stated once, that it sounds like a train engine when it drains!!

Whether its washing or draining, when you hear a Maytag Reverse Rack running, you know you have a thoroughbred in your kitchen.

Reverse Rack

Kelly has done so many nice things for me that I felt obligated to find him one of these dishwashers when he told me he wanted one. I was so excited when I called to tell him I had found one.

I got lucky and procured this one in very good condition locally for sale by a young couple who were replacing it with a Best Buy BOL special. They will regret it.

Happy dishwashing Kelly!

In the Pit

The lower full size wash arm with Jet Stream tower filter and heating element for water.  There is a separate drying fan.

Double Dipt

The lower rack for cups and glasses has room for smaller plates, bowls and flip down rack for laying in a second layer.

Shove It In

Both racks retracted.  The dishwasher requires no pre rinsing, no special loading and if you can get it in and latch the door it will come out clean. Needle spray, lots of water movement and triple action wipes out the dirt.  Beautiful racks and pristine porcelain.

Straight Up

You're right Pete, lying flat surfaced items on the bottom rack brings them into a direct turbo zone before it had a name.

Maytag!

Real nice dishwasher - I knew 2 people that had this exact model and it was a powerhouse. Noisy but kicked ass in cleaning!
Best Of Luck with this Gem!

Frankhoma Dishes

Wow, I haven't seen that pattern in years. I used to sell Frankhoma dishes in the mid '60's. Wagon wheel pattern in desert sand. Very cool. Gary

Very nice DW

I had a late 90's version with the non reverse racks and direct drive pump. It washed the hell out of everything put in it. I'd love to se a 3 way challenge between a TOL,RR Maytag, a TOL,WP/LKM Powerclean and a Hobart built KA Superba. This would be a blast out the dishes would never forget. BTW how did this do with fine glassware? The wash action in the WP and Hobart machines were too much for some thin pieces.

I would love it if someone could cut out the door and install a window on one of these, the same way it's been done on the the Kitchenaid and the RotoRack.

It would be so cool.
