Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Yet another machine that was "too inefficient" be used daily, or without company, I suppose.

At from what I can gather from threads on this site - all the more horror for the unfortunate person who comes across it and buys it!

This is the Potscrubber 3 - So that should mean PermaTuf tubs.

Although, I've heard these machines love to leak from the drain-valve, trip-shaft seal. Apparently that inefficient motor helps keep everything dry, and not so rusty!

Not too bad

This is a Potscrubber III model, and they had Perma-tuff tubs and heavier duty nylon racks, so the usual rusting was all up eliminated. These models also cleaned well because they had a self cleaning filtration system, which permitted GE to lower the amount of water used in its normal cycle.

That said, it still used copious amounts of water, had a very inefficient pump, and limited loading versatility (although the top rack holds a lot). Models below this still had the plastisol lined tanks, and are should be avoided for daily use.

This model is the entry level to the PS III line; many members here have (or had) the GSD 1200 or above (myself included) who are/were very pleased with these machines. They clean well.

Verdict, please! I might buy...

I'm in Austin. Should I buy it? I, too, have read here terrible things about caloric in general but what about this particular model? Please advise? Would you?
