My grandmother had this set when I was very young and Im hoping someone can tell me something about them. Like who made them, approximately when they may have been made and so on, Id really appreciate it!

I just have the photo, haven't seen the actual set since I was maybe 5 or 6.

Approx circa 1973

I could not find the Frogs. " Merry Mushroom" design is in my 1973  Sears  Spring and Summer catalogue for $21.00. with a Mushroom for the lid handle.  That year they also had "Festive Fruit".  The frogs  may have been about this time but maybe earlier or from a different retailer.  "Merry Mushroom" had the "earth colors"  that coordinated with corning ware,  "Spice O Life" .   In fact the corning ware "Spice O life"  was  2 pages past the "Merry Mushroom".    alr

I remember that set from back in the 70's. A friend had them in her kitchen. She collected ceramic "frogs" and that was part of her collection.

My grandmother had that same set, and my mother also got them as a wedding gift in 1984.
I actually have the spoon rest and napkin holder in use, and I'm thinking about using the canisters too

Yep, Sears.

I remember them from the catalogue, but could not tell you the year.

I also remember I never saw them at anyone's house, the way I did the Merry Mushroom stuff, which was everywhere for a while.

Twice in one day...

Thank you all for your responses! Finally knowing the name, Im considering trying to find a set, they're so cute, but would look rather odd with my kitchen decor. It would be a nice reminder of my childhood on my grandparents farm. I looked up the Merry Mushroom collection... I've never seen any of those pieces before but I do remember my mom having a casserole dish from Spice O Life. Thanks again for your help!

Andi:

The reason that Corning Ware's Spice o' Life and Sears' Merry Mushroom were so popular was that the colors in their designs coordinated with all the popular appliance colors of the day - White, Coppertone, Avocado and Harvest Gold. You could not mis-match your appliances with either line.

Neil the Frog, on the other hand, required some decorating skill to use, because you could go wrong with it if you didn't have Avocado or White appliances. You can see that Sears did try, with some gold and brown in the design, but it still comes off as predominantly green and white.

Well after all the talk of these canisters I had to pull them out last night and I swapped them out with my other canister set. Grandma still had the box for them.
I also have the wall clock but it is in need of a new mechanism

danemodsandy: That makes sense. My mother always has white appliances and my grandmother liked to have everything in almond. At the risk of dating myself, I've never actually seen appliances in those colors (avacado, harvest gold..) except maybe in old TV shows.

xraytech: Love it!
