I just checked under my table, and found no marks other than the number 6887979 that is stamped on both halves of the table. Does your table have similar markings? There is also an old staple that obviously held something many, many years ago...a label, perhaps?

Jor-El, uh Joe (L.):

The manufacturer's name and address are stamped right into the wood expansion sliders for the leaf.

There are also some handwritten numbers and what appears to be the signature of the final inspector.

20th century archaeology at its finest. Ooh, goosebumps! :)

Sadly...

There is no stamping on the wood expansion sliders, so family ties between your table and mine are looking to be pretty weak.

Upon a second crawl-under, with a brighter flashlight, I did notice another, very faint stamping of "Jul 1954," which would lend credence to my thought that my parents purchased this for their apartment, seeing as they were married in September of 1954.

Oh well, I've done my best sleuthing!
