Leaking, but cool looking older "Dishmobile":

White portable dishwasher. Vintage Frigidaire GM "Dishmobile" model with butcher-block top. Solid panels on 3 sides; may be used as an island when not running.

I won't have a dishwasher any more, so I'll toss in a box of detergent tabs/packs ;-)

Full disclosure: the dishwasher has a small leak, from either a seal or a hose connection inside. I never opened it up to see where the problem was, I just used a towel to soak up the water. Perfect for a vintage appliance aficionado!

It's interesting how Frigidaire has the later 70's machine loaded.  The serving bowl turned toward the tank wall in the lower rack and apparently nothing loaded in the lower rails of the upper rack.

Good catch, Greg! I wondered about that myself. I personally could never find any use for that outboard part, unless I had lots of Gladware that could wedge in. Maybe it was meant for thinner bowls? Thick ones didn't fit, and too-thin items slipped through the space between the wire strip at the bottom and the adjacent shelf. The only mugs that fit on the flip-down shelves had to be shorter-than-average (unless you had the Custom Imperial with the adjustable racks, which are a whole other topic of frustration), and good luck with loading them so that they could get a direct hit from the wash tower, if there was anything like tumblers between them and the tower in the center.

Someone had a vision for that upper-rack, but I never could align with it. I always wondered how people said they could get tons of dishes in these machines, because ours was always so difficult to get loaded properly in the top rack, and get consistent cleaning results. For me, it was the Spin-Tube all over again--the top rack was full well before the bottom rack came up to speed. At least in this model, drinking glasses and such could go down below, too.

Nate, there again, I think your dishes are probably bigger, thicker, more robust than typical dishes in the 60s & 70s.  Makes a difference as to how ":logical" and "ordered" dishware can be loaded.

I think this is a scam, fellow collectors. Got a vague and poorly-written email from this person asking if I might want to sell my '1962 Frigidaire Dishmobile'.... nice 'cept I never HAD a 62 dishmobile!
