Late 60's gas dryer in Tampa

Too bad its the gas version. In spite of how good it looks, just pop open the top panel and she is most likely a rusty mess!

Why would it be a rusty mess?

Those old Frigidaires have the burner up top. Unfortunately, those cabinet tops were poorly designed and the moisture build up in that area just rusted EVERYTHING out over time. I have a classic example in storage now. Looks fine on the outside, but pop open that top panel and its nothing but rust. Inside should have been completely porcelain coated.

There are folks here on the web site with far more insight into this issue than I. Perhaps one of them can weigh in with their opinions as well.
