This place is still tied up in an estate. I finally got to meet with the estate attorney to view the contents and make an offer. We were sort of rushed for time, but here are some of the aisles of Frigidaire parts.

Since the attorney had to drive over 2 hours to meet me, I got the feeling he didn't want to have made the trip for nothing. So, with a little persuation, he let me pay him for a few goodies.

Robert, you'll enjoy this pic. I've been after this switch for over 25 years. It fits only one Frigidaire washer model. I must have written to hundreds of dealers and parts suppliers all over the country but to no avail. But yes, I had patience.
This is the wash water temperature selector switch for my WCIR-58. And did he have only one? NO, he had three! I took two of them and left one there. All the years I bugged him to let me in his parts room, and he had three!

Well anyway, I put an offer in on the whole Frigidaire parts inventory. I didn't get to see anything else. He also has Maytag, Tappan and Hamilton parts. He has lots of Robinaire tools and lots of Frigidaire testers and wiring harnesses and tons of Frigidaire literature. I also didn't get into the place that has the old appliances themselves. I tried to schedule another appointment with the attorney but he said he'd get back to me. Wish me luck!

an understatement! I think that cap with metallic insert was for the variable speed washer model WXN or something to that effect from '68-'69.

The variable-speed Rollermatic I had from the late 60's had a white cap like that. Mine just had a regular console on it----not the storage cabinet.
Those photos remind me of the three places like that I have cleaned out. LOTS of dust! Lots of kool treasures!

Hey Rich, that is totally fabulous, I know how exciting it is to find vintage part gold mines. I cleaned out many places myself like that across Minnesota. I'm totally thrilled you finally found a WCIR-58 water temperature switch!
The white cap is very interesting, I too have never seen anything like that. I wonder if the Deep Action Agitator it belonged to was white as well??? I know the early Deep Action Agitators for the coin-op machines (introduced late in '62 for coin-ops) were a light gray color.

Rich, today might be the day to think about buying a lottery ticket!!! Fantastic find there. I am sure it took lots of patients to find this place but it just goes to prove that there has to be others out there as well just waiting to be discovered. Thanks for sharing!!

Rich - what a fantastic find!! I surehope the attorney will come back to you. That is a stash that must not get away!!
A few years back, one of the few local area appliance service companies that ever serviced Frigidaire (and had actually bought parts inventory from other small repair outfits as they went out of business)told me he was planning to get rid of all his remaining parts. I begged and pleaded with him to quote me a price as I needed (and still do need) a tub bellows, oil bellows, bearings, spin clutch, bearings and a few rollers for my W-2). I offered to buy whatever he had regardless of whether I really needed it or not.
He promised to come back to me within the week. When I didn't hear from him, I went over and he told me he just trashed the whole inventory since he couldn't be bothered "figuring out a price for all that useless crap - and besides no one wants those old Frigidaire machines anyway". Needless to say, I was crushed. What was worse, he knew I had the W2 since he was the one who checked it out for me and diagnosed what I would need to fix it! Should have known I was in trouble when I originally asked him to fix it for me and he flatly refused. Sadly he is one of the most unpleasant individuals I had the misfortune to deal with but also is one of the few remaining alive in my area that knows his way around a Frigidaire.
I found out later, he works in conjunction with the appliance dealer a few doors away reconditioning Maytags, Whirlpools and Kenmores that the dealer takes in and selling them off and does quite well as a side business to boot!
